for hall of famer glenn frey. >> the fame guitarist died here in new york city yesterday. he was 67 years old. >> he was founding member of the eagles, he battled a number of serious health problems in recent years, many of which he blamed on his rock 'n' roll lifestyle. here is a look back at his career with abc's david wrooigt. >> reporter: for eagles' fans a huge heart ache as the band announced the passing of our comrade. glenn frey was a founding member who cowrote and sang some of the biggest hits, including "take it easy" he cowrote "desparado." he also cowrote the bands most famous duo ♪ he was arriving from mo town, he said glen was the one who started it all.

found behind the building sunday night before the shooting police received a call who said her boyfriend was hunting for an officer to kill. he's an excon with a long record. the veteran officer who was shot to death over the weekend was working over time to pay for his cancer treatment. he was killed when he encountered a fugitive who went missing from a rehab center. he had fought cancer for 12 years before his death. extreme cold has now spread to the east, but hasn't loosened its grip off the midwest. the extreme temperatures are life threatening, some communities have warming centers where people without heat or proper shelter can get in out of the cold. temperatures in the upper midwest will come later today. consumer alert, trader joe's is voluntarily recalling one of
