said just after 3 p.m. today, firefighters responded to a call for an outside ghastly. they quickly discovered high levels of gas inside the home. as they were walking out, and explosion blew out the windows and a fireball ripped through the basement. >> they said go outside, not in, so they can make sure everything was ok. roz: residents were evacuated as fire crews checked for gas leaks. they spotted washington gas crews working in their neighborhood twice in the past week. ina couple days ago i came after going shopping and i could smell gas in the air. resident, i'm curious if we are in danger. roz: a washington gas representative was on site, but would not speak on camera or answer questions. they said the gas situation was "secure," but neighbors still have questions. >> i would appreciate if they

let the neighbors know this is something we should be concerned about. i don't want to wait until a bigger explosion. a whole lot of damage can be done with a gas explosion. we just want to be sure we will not be victims of a situation like that. roz: as for exactly what happened, washington gas says the fire department will lead the investigation. roz plater, abc 7 news. county policeford are investigating an early morning homicide. they are looking for this man, 20-year-old chancellor tolliver, wanted for first-degree murder in the shooting death of maury scott near the garrison woods apartment complex just before 5 a.m. he died on the way to the hospital. the police believe that tolliver is armed and dangerous. investigators say that speed played a role in a deadly crash on i 70 in hagerstown this morning. say that awitnesses vehicle veered towards a box truck while trying to pass.

look at national harbor, this is just one model, one piece of information. this is a new style of forecast where we take one computer forecast and run it 20 times. it changes slightly. in europe they do it about 71 times. and we look at this together, it gives us the best average forecast. today, cloud cover washington in metro, southeast, more sunshine to the west. the spin in the upper left-hand corner of the screen is the upper-level system that is coming in. that will drive down and become the storm system that gives us the chance of precipitation monday night into tuesday. the upper-level system puts the energy into a surface low. has thest suite of data area of low pressure to the south. this is not a big storm system, but that is an ideal location.
