this is "world news now." >> good morning, everybody. on a tuesday morning here, i'm kendis gibson. >> and i'm reena ninan. big grammy night. >> big night. it was a fun show. it was a long show. almost oscar length but there were a lot of headlines coming out of the big grammys there, big performance by lady gaga and a controversial one by adele. we're going to dig into all of it. >> great. >> but of course, we're going to start on a serious note with those severe storms in the eastern half of the country. for example, in alexandria louisiana, a tornado ripped the roof off of a car wash and threw it into a nearby pizza hut. some of it landed on a car with a woman inside. she wasn't injured. just shaken up. >> then another tornado struck along the florida alabama state line tearing down power lines and tearing down trees. for thor north a ice storm from tennessee to

here's linsey davis. across north carolina, snow and ice are to blame for more than 1500 car accidents in less than 16 lawyers. 500 accidents in virginia. at least one person killed. police are asking drivers to stay off the road. further south multiple reports of tornado touchdowns, in mississippi this house destroyed. this high school campus damaged. in louisiana, winds ripped apart this car wash and pizza hut and sent debris flying. >> i seen it like coming at me. it was scary. >> reporter: the 1200 mile long winter storm is wreaking havoc at airports. and there were massive pile-ups more than 60 vehicles on both i-56 in indiana. >> when the weather starts changing people need to reduce their speed and didn't today. >> and i-78 in pennsylvania where three were killed. here in new york city, the snow is expect the to turn t

there is a certain irony in the debate about whether or not te in this case. the suspect was killed by police. a series of air strikes in syria destroyed hospitals it including a maternity ward and pediatric hospital. 50 people were killed. doctors without you borders blame syria and russia saying some 40,000 people have no access 0 medical care. last week the u.s., russia and other world powers agreed to a pause in the flight. >> eagles death metal front man jesse hughes has returned to paris saying he feels a sacred responsibility to finish the band's show that was interrupted by a error attack. the performance by the california based band is scheduled for tonight. hughes broke into tears saying he's been unable to control his emotions since that attack. >> i don't know why god picked us. to be the band, but i'm grateful for it.

and i hope everyone knows that. >> he was asked if the trauma that he and others experienced has changed his views on gun control. he says he believes everyone should be armed. >> the crisis over the zika virus in florida is growing. one new case has been confirmed bringing the state's total number of cases to 21 all of the cases acquired outside of the state and none involve pregnant women among those considered to be at greatest risks. potential vaccines said to be at least 18 months away. >> almost all of comcast's service has been restored. the outages appear to be scattered across account country. there's no word on how many were affected or what caused the problem. comcast has some 27 million customers so people actually spoke to each other for a little while
