uber driver accused of a deadly shooting rampage admitted to the crime. 45-year-old jason dalton ordered held without bond this afternoon and is facing six counts of murder after the police say he shot people at random in kalamazoo, michigan. president obama speaking to the u.s. governors today addressed the rampage. >> families are shattered today. >> in the middle of the rampage we are told the suspect dalton picked up an uber passenger. leon: tonight we look at the hiring process. suzanne kennedy live in arlington with a look at us tonight. >> suzanne. >> this is second nature to so many of us. we pick up the phone and hit an app. the next thing we know we have an uber waiting for us to take us where we need to go. but do we really know who we get in the car with?

>> all it takes is submit information on the uber app. no face to face meeting necessary. this driver went through the process last year. >> copy of your driver's license. copy of the registration. copy of the insurance card. picture of the car. picture of the license plate. >> the next day, i was on the road. >> the driver involved in saturday's shooting 45-year-old jason dalton had undergone background check. uber says he had no criminal record and there was nothing to indicate dalton was a security threat. at the uber local office no one would talk on camera about the local drivers but they talked to kimberly suiters about the screening process. >> u.c. we do adequate background checks. we did them before required by law. >> uber users say the background checks are important but they aren't sure they would have done anything to prevent what happened over the weekend in

taking the medications. doctors say she is no longer a threat. >> fairfax county police hope a sketch who will lead to a man behind a brutal sexual assault. take a look. police say this man broke in the apartment in the mount vernon area and sexually assaulted a woman inside. a woman told us she recognizes the man as someone who wanders the complex. they are canvassing the area to hope someone saw something unord. leon: there is a sting organization to bust armed robbers. tyrone strickland jr. and andre speller would meet up with people trying to buy things through the offer up app. then they would pull out a gun and steal cash that the victim brought with them to make purchase and then flee. but the police turned the tables on the two to offer to buy a stolen dirt bike. they arrested the men who were armed when they were supposed to make the deal. alison: we are preparing to go on storm watch.

michelle: the u.s. and russia agreed to enforce a cease-fire in syria. in the change to previously aboarded creasefire, they are going to act as guarantors and the monitor and cessation of hostilities if allowed. it does not include isis or other terrorist organizations and set to begin midnight on saturday. more than 250,000 syrians have been killed in the civil war, which began in 2011. >> a trial began in richmond today that will determine if virginia voter i.d. law is constitutional. democrats filed the law last year saying it disenfranchises

and drove off. he was charged with hit-and-run. no one was hurt. leon: a criminal investigation underway after 13 bald eagles were found dead on a farm on the maryland eastern shore area. $10,000 reward is offered for any information leading to a conviction. amy aubert spoke with the man who found that startling scene. amy: on a quiet street in federalburg, a big discovery. >> i thought it was a turkey at first. i moved it with my foot and realized it was a bald eagle. amy: he was looker for deer antlers and instead found four bald eagles in the grass. >> i was amazed at all it was a bald eagle. amy: he contacted officials and the maryland department of natural resources found more the same day. he is not the only one who made the discovery. >> eagle laying right there by my

amy: robert says the farm where the birds were found has been in his family for over a hundred years. >> i saw all four and i was shocked because i had not seen that many eagles at one time around the farm, flying around the farm. amy: they were found on this dirt road and along the wood line. natural resources police tell us their crews spent today on the scene investigating. >> they are working in a joint investigation with the u.s. fish and wildlife service. they tell us the birds had no sign of trauma. >> my first thought was they had been shot. but then the more that i realized that they were so close together that was not a probability. >> u.s. fish and wildlife service say the birds will be taken to the wildlife forensics laboratory to determine cause of death. for now, neighbors on the quiet back road are left wondering what happened. >> i was amazed what i was looking at. i never seen one that close dead
