good morning. on what is really a busy friday morning. i'm kendis gibson. >> and i'm reena ninan. >> let's get started with the top story that deadly shooting incident in kansas. 38-year-old cedric ford went on a shooting rampage according to authorities in his town shooting at people and then storming a lawn mow manufacturing business where he worked. >> evers killed by police after taking the lives of three others and woundsing more than a dozen people with an assault style weapon. linsey davis has details. >> four people including the shooter are dead this shooting after a shooting at a company called excel industries. 14 others were injured in the gunfire. >> we had a report of an active shooter inside of excel industries. we have numerous people shot inside the building. we have a number of people killed inside the building. >> reporter: coworkers and friends hugging outside the building where lawn equipment is manufactured. >> and then i seen a mob of people start running out saying run, run, and

pop, that's all i heard and everybody started scattering out of the building. and i didn't realize what had happened till we got outside and i started seeing wounded people coming out. >> reporter: officials say he began shooting from his car at the facility where he was an employee. >> he was traveling and shooting from his car. >> reporter: police say the shooter was shot and killed by law enforcement and that they're investigating at least four other crime scenes. >> he was a really nice guy and seemed not this kind of pesh. that's for sure. >> i heard him yell something. that's what got our attention. turned around. hopped out with an ak-47 it appeared like and fired a few shots before he went in and ducked down and went into the building. >> reporter: the threat so serious, nearby hesston college was on lockdown. >> this take some time to work through this. there's been so many crime scenes and there's so many people. this is just a horrible incident that's happened here to harvey county, hesston, newton. it's so spread out. please bear with us as we try to get through this. >> reporter:

and say, never again. sanders will turn his attention back to south carolina later today when he returns for back to back rallies. new developments in the politically charged battle over the next supreme court justice. the republican governor of nevada says he's not interested in the job. brian sandoval's name floated as a possible nominee earlier this week. he said while the consideration is beyond humbling, he does not want to be considered right now. top republicans in the senate have said they won't consider the president's nominee in any case. let's turn to the security showdown taking place between apple and the federal government. apple has filed aggressive formal response to a judge's order calling on the company to assist the fbi in unlocking the iphone of san bernardino shooter syed farook. the company claims the government is seeking what it calls dangerous powerses. apple's filing also says that the constitution for bids what the government is asking it to do. on capitol hill yesterday, fbi

well, returning to our breaking story. a deadly workplace shooting at a lawn moor manufacturer in kansas. the gunman 38-year-old cedric ford he worked for the company. he opened fire outside, then went inside and continued firing. ford killed three people and wounded more than a dozen others before being shot and killed by police. police say that something triggered ford's attack but they haven't said what his motive could be. we'll stay on top of this breaking story. a former bp big rig supervisor has been found not guilty in a case lirked to the gulf of mexico oil spill in 2010. robert kalu sa was tried on a single misdemeanor charge of pollution. prosecutors said that he and another rig supervisor botched a negative pressure test and missed clear signals of trouble before the explosion on the deepwater horizon rig. a very different verdict has been handed down by investigators in the case of a us airways jet crash as it tried

philadelphia. >> at the time, the airline suggested it was a blown tire but now investigators are blaming pilot error. here's abc's david kerley. >> oh, my god, my plane. my plane just crashed. >> reporter: it was a scramble. >> the plane is on fire. >> reporter: for the 154 people to get off the jet. >> i see smoke down there. we're going to dispatch the emergency vehicles. >> reporter: this, after the four-second flight ended by slamming onto the pavement in march of 2014. first reports of a blown tire or landing gear trouble were wrong. it was pilot error. according to the ntsb the according to the ntsb, the pilots didn't input a piece of information into the flight computer. so, as the jet started to take off, warnings. the captain puts the nose down and the jet slams onto that runway and bounces 15 feet back into the air before sliding to rest. the ntsb says, not following procedures and the "captain's decision to reject the takeoff" are the probable causes. the airline says it made "several changes to our procedures, manuals and training." no one was injured. the pilots have not flown for
