we have learned one of those officers has died just one day after being sworn in. this happened as they were responding to a domestic incident. we know those are some of the most deadly incidents for police officers. the suspect is in custody right now. we have live team coverage. roz plater is in the neighborhood, but we get in with cheryl conner in falls church where the officers were taken to the hospital. cheryl, what is going on right now? cheryl: we have a long line of police cars that are right outside of inova fairfax hospital, lining up here, probably to do some sort of escort.ha the officer was sworn in friday, shot and killed saturday. she was brought to inova fairfax

evening. she and two other police officers were shot. the police say that it was a domestic incident that led to the shooting. those three police officers were responding at 5:30 p.m. we understand that it was a verbal argument. we will show you the area above the neighborhood. it was a verbal argument that took them to the home, then it was one suspect to shop the officers. we don't know if they were shot inside or outside the home, but all three officers were flown to anova fairfax -- inova fairfax and we got the update that officer ashley gidden was shot this evening and died at the hospital. we don't know the condition of the other t two officers. outside the hospital, more police

two dozen marked in unmarked police cars, they brought in the mobile crime scene van, collecting evidence, followed by a mobile command center. they will betion here a a while tonight come investigate all of this. did not know about the shooting that took place, but they describe the chaos they saw and heard, gunfire followed by screams, sirens, officers on foot with their guns drawn. >> i was at home and i called the police because i heard pop, pop, pop. at first i thought it was fireworks, but then i saw there was an officer in pursuit. heard a loud scream, but i did not think anything of it. i went back into the house. all of a sudden, all these ambulances and police cars. roz: what did you see? >> two police down, one

person -- roz: lying on the ground? >> lying on the ground. roz: was anybody moving? >> no. everything is peaceful all the time, neighbors help each other. never heard anything like this. two we will show you pictures the neighbors took of paramedics rushing in to take the injured to the hospital. this neighborhood tonight, people are very sad, coming out to offer condolences to the officers, very sad over what happened. they know their neighborhood will not be the same for a while. investigators will be on the scene. cheryl, back to you with the hospital. kimberly: we will return to that breaking news in a moment.

kimberly: back to the breaking news in prince william county, three officer shot while responding to a domestic incident in woodbridge. one of those officers was killed and this was her very first day on the job. cheryl conner has been getting information from investigators and she is live with an update. in your last live shot, i thought i heard bagpipes behind you, and other tribute to the officer killed tonight? , you know what, we have heard it too often, bagpipes outside of the hospital , inova fairfax hospital, where officer ashley guindon died this evening.
