facsimile or a made up story. our robbery homicide will look into that. what i can tell you is that the story, as it is told to us i the person we received it from any person we received the knife from is a retired lapd officer who retired in the late 1990's. he was a motor officer and at the time, according to him, he , he wasing an off-duty working a movie job -- moving job, which a lot of our off-duty officers do and retired officers. i do not know whether he was retired at the time he allegedly received this item from the person who claimed they found it on the property or whether he was still an lapd officer and retired sometime after the we are looking into that. openall cases that remain
