fredericksburg to traffic is moving very slowly on northbound 95 between exits 130 and 133. that closure is expected to continue around 12:30. crews were performing emergency sign removal at mile marker 132. the overhead sign was struck a passenger vehicle overnight. they say this happened around 2:00 a.m. on one side of the sign were dislodged and more on the other side were also dislodged, requiring crews to security for the a.m. rush. you have this traffic impact on this major corridor. all major traffic is being detoured here in fredericksburg

vdot encouraging drivers to use alternate routes. on 95 has traffic mostly been unaffected. this location is not really visible to the southbound lanes so there is not any rubbernecking. vdot just told me there will be slow rolling on southbound 95 as crews bring in additional equipment that is needed. we will see some impact on southbound 95 as well. it's going to be a long afternoon for a lot of drivers. jummy: we want to check on the rest of the roadways. jamie sullivan joins us now. jamie: the backup you can see here heading northbound, that solid red line. it's about three miles that we are seeing this bumper-to-bumper traffic right now.

officer ashley guindon killed on her first day on the job. her funeral is happening right now. thousands of officers lined the funeral possession -- procession this morning. she will be buried at st. thomas the apostle cemetery. officer guindon will be buried next to her father. ronald hamilton shot his wife and then guindon and two officers responding to the domestic violence call in woodbridge last weekend. he now faces capital murder and other charges. a homicide investigation is happening in prince george's county. two women stabbed overnight at the overland gardens apartments in landover. one was killed and the other injured. john gonzalez is in landover with new details of the investigation. john: investigators are still trying to piece this together. they say this was not a random crime. it appears

this apartment complex and targeted these women. take a look at the scene. after many hours, prince george's county police crews are still protecting a homicide crime scene and a number of detectives are still inside this building. much of the investigation has been focused on that second floor. it appears that's where at least one woman was stabbed. one of the women rushed to the hospital around 3:00 this morning. that woman suffered nonlife threatening injuries. the other woman unfortunately was killed. we have noticed detectives dusting for fingerprints. >> just try to keep them as safe as possible. that's all you possibly can do. it's kind of shocking to me. >> the doors used to have security locks on them but people were losing their keys. they were supposed to put an intercom system in because there

apartment. they took the locks off. we asked the property manager about the security at the complex. she told as these are secure doors. we went door to door and the doors are not locked. you can walk right in and walk right out. ask theent back to lady, she said she was new on the job and she would have to get back to me. we are less than an hour away from a major announcement from general manager and ceo paul winfield. he admitted the agency's flaws and how to fix those flaws. jeannette reyes has a closer look. jeannette: metro no longer accepting paper fare cards. you will need this instead. it's one of the many changes as the new metro g.m. announces a huge management overhaul.
