came down. leon: the new developments could be a big deal. maryland court of appeals the highest court in the state ruled that officer william porter is going to have to testify in the trial of two other baltimore officers charged in the freddie gray case. the court ruled that porter has to take the stand in the trial for the fellow officer caesar goodson and alicia white. they also reversed a judge's order to deny prosecutor request to call porter against three other officers, edward nero, garrett miller and tamir . porter's trial ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury in january. porter is arguing he shouldn't have to testify against the other officers on grounds he may incriminate himself because he will be retried in the wake of his mistrial. we will stay on top of it for you. michelle: thank you. we have good

william county. injured officer hinton is out of the hospital. he was hurt in the deadly shooting that killed fellow officer ashley guindon. in a post on the facebook page hinton was said to be in good spirits. officer david mckeoen is still in the hospital. we will talk one-on-one with the prince william county police chief on how the department is coping with the tragedy. police fear it's a matter of time before a homeowner gets hurt. several bullets have come through homes in woodbridge in the past month. >> my oldest was home at the time. >> can he stay with a friend indefinitely until it's figured to out? >> yeah. >> to date, seven homes have been hit since mid-february. police say at this point there is no indication any of the incidents are connected. jonathan: all right. let's talk politics. a lot to talk about in the race fo

think it's mold. that is bad enough. some of the cups were sent away with testing but it came back with something worse living inside. >> i really want to know. it looks like mold. alison: mother andrea o'keeffe was disgusted when she discovered this. inside of the valve of her daughter's sippy cup. it's discolored, it smells bad. what she suspects made her daughter sick. >> that is gross. my daughter was drinking through it. alison: our sister station in columbus sent investigators to a bioengineer and mold expert. we showed him two sippy cups from two different families. >> as a parent, i would be very concerned. alison: we asked them to get it tested in the lab. look at the difference. this is a clean air sample. here is what grew out of the sippy cup sample. >> it's not mold. it's bacteria. alison: not mold but millions of colonies of bacteria. easily capable of making any child sick.

tack backup. a huge backup. alexandria continuing to route 4, that is a 15-mile backup. we are talking eight miles per hour as an average. this is all because of the earlier accident with the tractor trailer involved. it will take you an hour and a half just to get from the wilson bridge to route 4. on the b.w. parkway northbound we had a crash at 198. that is gone. use 95 as the alternate. 15 miles per hour is the average. definitely a rough afternoon. jonathan? jonathan: ouch. 14-mile backup. yikes. thanks. michelle: next, the first lady hosted a celebration for the let girls learn initiative. >> i'm amy aubert with the story coming up. michelle: the new -- jonathan: also new at 5:00, you heard the survival story yesterday.

you think we can get this done? amy: on a day meant to celebrate women, first lady michelle obama did just that. >> we can get this done. i know we are all up to the task. amy: in front of a packed crowd at union market the first lady stressed the importance of getting involved in let girls learn. an initiative kicked off a year ago aimed to help girls across the world get an education. >> they know that education is their only path to self-sufficiency. amy: college student simoan cohen says she is doing all she can to help. >> if we keep pushing arrest and fighting for this imagine how much more we can accomplish.

women have been shot or stabbed in domestic instances in prince george's county. three of the women have died. prince george's county has seen the domestic homicide rate increase and the rest of maryland is on decline. leon: abc7 has seen coverage of the deadly trend. suzanne kennedy is tracking the effort to change laws to fight back. we get to her in a bit but let's start with maryland bureau chief brad bell who is tracking the breaking news from the latest act of senseless violence. brad? brad: we have breaking news. confirmed a half an hour ago and first reported by abc7. the suspect in this double murder has been found dead. believed to be the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. he was found this afternoon in hanover county, virginia. not too far from ashland. that is north of richmond. his name is kevin tyrice reynolds. he

victims of this double murder. we can show you video of this. neighbors here at the cheverly apartments, the cheverly station apartments heard arguing and then two sets of three gunshots. boom, boom, boom. boom, boom, boom. neighbors ran upstairs and they discovered that two women had been shot and killed. their names tarekka jones. you can see her in the facebook page, on her facebook photo. and her sister jalisa walls-harris. now what we have learned is tarekka jones was involved a relationship with kevin reynolds. there was a history of abuse. reynolds was arrested in the middle of february after he dragged jones around the parking lot here and then threatened her with a gun. he was locked up. but jones actually according to sources went to his bond review said she did not want to move ahead with the charges. his bond
