pompeo and rhimes praising clinton as a champion of the real world. >> bernie sanders is holding rallies in three states today but yesterday his focus was on delegate-rich florida. he made several campaign stops attracting about 20,000 people in all. sanders promised to expand social security and he told supporters he could win florida if there's a large voter turnout. >> quite a crowd in tampa and quite a crowd last night at the white house for the first official state dinner for canada in nearly 20 years. president obama welcomed canada's new prime minister justin trudeau, praising him for his policies on climate change and refugees. both leaders noting their close ties. trudeau even saying the two are closer than friends, more like siblings. we'll have much more from the state dinner and what they drank. is that some ice wine? i don't know. >> you did bring me a bottle of ice wine. very good. >> former first lady nancy reagan will be laid to rest right next to her husband at his

thousands of well-wishers paying their respects to mrs. reagan over the last two days. relatives of every president dating back to jfk will attend her funeral today. first lady michelle obama will be there, as well, along with hillary clinton and george w. bush and laura bush. abc news will have live coverage of the funeral starting at 2:00 p.m. eastern time. ten states in the south are under flood watches and warnings as almost two feet of rain has triggered historic flooding. at least four people have been killed by floodwaters stretching hundreds of miles over taking streets, highways and entire neighborhoods. more than 3,000 families in one city outside of shreveport alone are under a mandatory evacuation. >> be ready to evacuate at a moment's notice because when the water starts rising, things can get pretty terrible pretty quickly. >> and it's not over yet. louisiana, mississippi could see another 10 inches of rain through saturday. and an eig

ended in dramatic fashion. rafael mccloud was shot and killed in mississippi after he broke into a home and held a family hostage. abc's linsey davis reports on the terrifying hours inside of that home. >> reporter: relief in a mississippi community after police say this man, a fugitive, was killed during a terrifying home invasion. >> reporter: police say rafael mccloud who faced rape and murder charges, broke out of jail last week after holding an officer at knifepoint. >> we consider this man dangerous. he was armed with a homemade shank when he left the jail. >> reporter: his escape sparked an intense manhunt. less than a mile away from that jail, police say mccloud forced his way into a home, taking a man, his wife, and their 5-year-old child held hostage for hours. >> 30-year-old male stabbed in the back is in the bath tub. >> we believe there was a struggle ensued inside the home with the homeowner. >> reporter: that man was tied up, then stabbed in the shoulder. his wife able to grab the gun. once her husband could get free, he shot and killed m

mccloud was pronounced dead at the scene. while the husband was hospitalized, police say his injuries were not life-threatening and his wife and son were not harmed. linsey davis, abc news, new york. details have just been released about a unique drug bust at new york's jfk airport earlier this month. officers noticed inconsistencies when they x-rayed seed cakes being carried by a man from mexico. those inconsistencies turned out to be packages of cocaine. oh, so that's seed cakes? i was wondering what that was. two pounds of it in total. the street value of the coke was about $33,000. the man who was carrying them was arrested on the spot. i never had seed cakes before. >> i wouldn't want those, that type of seed cake. >> another target for drug smugglers, this is surprising. students on spring break unknowingly being turned into blind mules. smugglers target americans who are visiting mexico who they know either work or live relatively close to the border.

they attach their drugs under the victims' cars with strong magnets along with a gps tracking device and trucks with rear mounted tires are targeted, as well. >> they can just come up, slit the tire open. throw the drugs in there. put the cover back on. and just let you go on your way. >> the scariest part about all this is the gps that sends smugglers to your home or business to retrieve the package. officials say if you're going to mexico, don't tell people where you're from. and thoroughly check your car before getting to the checkpoint. oh, boy, this is incredible for a lot of people who hated this. an effort under way in san san francisco to punish guys who engage in one of the most despised practices on mass transit. we're talking about manspreading. >> i didn't know what manspreading was. >> this is what it is. >> man spreading is when some dude takes up the space of more than one seat for whatever reason. there's a lot of those shots. now a proposal in the bay area calls for hefty fines for offenders. >> here's the deal.
