>> good friday morning, everyone. >> i'm kendis gibson. >> i'm reena ninan. let's begin with the race for president and a seemingly concerted effort to stand in the way of donald trump. >> stopping the republican front-runner's progress was the subject of a three-hour long behind closed doors meeting of conservatives yesterday in washington, d.c. also on the agenda, the possibility of a third party presidential challenge. decisions will be made by anti-trump forces over the next few days about how to best use resources. >> trump also under fire for some of his comments earlier this week. abc's jonathan karl has more. >> reporter: donald trump was denounced by republican leaders in washington and ohio for predicting riots if he loses the nomination this summer at the convention in cleveland. >> nobody should say such things in my opinion because to even address or hint to violence is unacceptable. >> and ohio governor john kasich who is both running against trump and hosting this summer's

you convention told abc news, trump's talk is downright dangerous. >> to even imply that there could be violence if he doesn't get his way, you know, he's not running for the presidency of the wwe. he's running for president of the united states. and this kind of language is an outrage. >> reporter: and trump is under fire from an entirely different source. vladimir putin, the kremlin denouncing trump's latest attack on hillary clinton. this video splices together footage of clinton and the russian president. putin's spokesman accused trump of "demonizing russia." it comes one day after trump said this when asked who he consult about foreign policy. >> i'm speaking with myself number one because i have a very good brain. and i've said a lot of things. >> reporter: hillary clinton claims she's already getting worried calls from foreign leaders. >> i'm having foreign leaders ask if they can endorse me to stop donald trump. -say no, i mean

thank you very much. >> reporter: and another attack on trump, the hacker group anonymous claims they have hacked into his private information including his social security number, cell phone information, and address. the trump campaign has issued a statement responding to the alleged hack by anonymous saying, "the government and law enforcement authorities are seeking the arrest of the people responsible for attempting to illegally hack mr. trump's accounts and his telephone information." jonathan karl, abc news, washington. >> more politics now. we've heard from senator marco rubio for the first time since he suspended his campaign on tuesday night. rubio went home to miami after taking care of some business in d.c. before leaving the capital, he ma talked about his plans, which he said do not include most government positions. >> i'm not interested in being vice president. i don't mean that in a disrespectful way. i'm going to be vice president. i'm not running for governor of florida. i'm going to finish my term in the senate over the next ten

it remains unclear exactly what rubio will do. he says he also did not make an endorsement among the republican contenders although he did say he believes ted cruz is a conservative and that he liked john kasich. >> the u.s. is now accusing isis of committing genocide. secretary of state john kerry said the terror group is responsible for genocide against christians and other muslim groups flps iraq and syria. many are forced to convert to islam or be killed. the announcement is not expected to change america's bombing campaign against isis. >> the young man from virginia accused of fighting for isis is speaking out in a new video. the man says he made a bad decision and is anxious to return home to america. here's abc's terry moran. >> reporter: accused by kurdish authorities of fighting for isis, the young american, born in virginia, tells a very different story. it was all about a girl, he told kurdish tv in iraq. >> i made a bad decision to go

because i wasn't thinking straight. >> where are you from? >> united states. >> reporter: mohamad jamal khweis, 26 years old, captured monday by kurdish peshmerga fighters near sinjar, iraq. he says he left the u.s. last december and made his way through europe to syria, and then mosul in iraq, his girlfriend's hometown. but he hated it there. >> it's not like the western countries. i found it hard for everyone there. >> reporter: and khweis has a message. >> the life in mosul, it's really, really bad. the people who are controlling mosul don't represent the religion -- isis is, isil. they don't represent the religion. >> reporter: u.s. officials say roughly 250 americans have traveled to the middle east to join extremist groups. khweis says that's not him, but he will surely face hard qu

investigators about what exactly he was doing in isis territory. terry moran, abc news, washington. and the fbi says the student who went on a stabbing rampage of a central california college last november was in fact inspired by isis. investigators found isis propaganda on a laptop belonging to faisal mohammad and say he had visited several terrorist web sites before launching his attack at uc merced. but they say he acted alone when he stabbed and wounded four people before police shot and killed him. >> a baltimore ramps player is in critical condition this morning following a dirtbike crash. cornerback trey walker was airlifted to a miami hospital suffering from head trauma. sources tell our abc station in miami that an unnamed new england patriots player was with walker at the time, but has since disappeared. now some extreme weather starting with a lightning strike at an american airlines jet.

the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at new york's jfk airport. it was supposed to land at laguardia. passengers say they saw a flash of light. passengers heard what sounded like a big explosion. no one was injured. the faa is looking into the incident. in texas, the problem was hail, some of it the size of golf balls. hail blasted holes in car windshields. several flamingos and other birds at the fort worth zoo were also affected. thousands in the dallas area lost power. and that storm system col strengthen in the south and turn into a snowstorm for northeast. here's justin povick at accuweather. good morning, justin. >> kendis, reena, good morning to you, as well. we're following a system that's going to drive down cold enough air to produce more snow. i know it's march but it's been warm lately. this is going to be a shock to the system. accumulations very light over the high terrain. mostly showers from pittsburgh to new york. but there be some flight delays. later on this weekend, i'm concerned about

snows and gusty winds and march travel delays. at least the possibility from d.c. to bangor. reena, back to you. >> thank you so much. a pennsylvania nun is charged with shoplifting that police say was caught on video. workers at a surplus store say that the woman put $23 worth of items in her cart and then rushed out of the store. state police tracked her car to a nearby convent. they found out the alleged shoplifter was a 78-year-old nun. >> i was shocked to say the least. i was shocked. i couldn't believe that a nun would actually do something like that. >> police say that the items included coffee, snacks and toiletries. if convicted, the nun will likely have to pay a fine. proof we need to donate more to churches. >> yeah. a pair of recalls this morning involving two popular tuna fish brands. bumblebee foods is recalling nearly 32,000 cases of tuna due to underprocessed products that could cause serious illnesses. in the
