until they find you. maureen: despite the big arrest, the search for those behind the paris attacks is not over. we turn now to the chief political correspondent scott thuman. he was in brussels earlier in the year in the search for abdeslam and joins us from the terrorism alert desk. scott: a couple of big take-aways from today's breaking news. first, the fact that president hollande of france said they do now understand that there were perhaps more attackers involved, plotters who had a hand in those terrorist attacks that killed 130 people. subsequently you can expect more arrests soon. they are now hoping to get abdeslam back to paris. back to france. where they can begin questioning him and eventually try him there. second is it is important to understand exactly where all of this happened. molenbeek. a small neighborhood within brussels. it's one that is heavily populated by mostly people of

moroccan descent. that is not a problem in and of itself but in the community it is one. a group of people feel they are segregated and they have not been integrated in the community well at all. as a result they feel it is a breeding ground for radicalization. this is video of our trip to molenbeek. not terribly long ago. as they were looking for the the paris attackers. we talk to people that say if there is not a sulchural extended change in molenbeek and brussels and belgium you will continue to see the terror cells grow out of the neighborhoods. so two-fold today, maureen. one, big news with the arrest and the fact that more are coming. second, this highlights the importance of trying to figure out how to prevent the group and the radicalizations from taking place. leon: a lot of work left to be done. scott thuman reporting live here. a woodbridge man admitted to trying to join isis.

guilty. the friend was arrested. and awaiting trial. alexandria man who was allegedly fighting for isis is speaking out about his experience. 26-year-old mohamad jamal khweis turned himself in to the kurdish forces in iraq this week. today he appeared on kurdish tv. and there he said he said a huge mistake in joining isis. he spent the last month in mosul, which is controlled by isis. >> we got to another house. a lot of foreigners were there. all the foreigners had to put their i.d.'s and passports. leon: officials are trying to get khweis back from iraq and think his experience might help them fight against isis. maureen: turn of subjects. the spring-like weather we have been enjoying is about to turn back to winter. that brings us a chance of snow. chief meteorologist doug hill looks at the timing for us. doug? doug: we have no worries at

country. at this hour, loudoun county officials are teaming up with the d.e.a. and the congresswoman barbara comstock getting together for a round table discussion. with the d.e.a. in leesburg. this comes as another virginia community comes to grips with the scourge of a drug that cost two children their parents. northern virginia bureau chief life with that story in stafford. jeff, sobering stuff. jeff: this is terrible, leon. right now, william moore, 39 years old remains at the happ regional -- the rappahannock regional jail without bond, following murder following the death of his wife from heroin overdose. two young children, their father is in jail and their mother is gone. >> she did whatever she could to help other people out. jeff: this friend of 28-year-old ashley moore who does not want to reveal her identity called ashley a loving mother and wife who often spoke out against heroin. >> that is what was so shocking to me. the know heroin was across street for us. jeff: early on the mo

february 26, authorities say 39-year-old william moore called 911 saying his wife overdosed at their home. moore later admitting he had given ashley the fatal shot. moore has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse and neglect. >> they love each other so much. they were so in love. so there is no way he did it purposefully. it had to have been the influence of the drugs. >> they were a lively group of peak with a little daughter and a little boy. playingplaying with the whole neighborhood. >> at the time of the incident, their 10-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son were inside the home. universities say it was common for the drug paraphernalia to be out in the open. totally visible to the children. >> they were using every day. multiple times a day. >> we have seen increase in this area. >> jennifer is a substance abuse coordinator with the rappahannock area community service board. here as in so many other part of the region, heroin remains an epidemic. >> once someone establishes that

anything they can to get it. jeff: i spoke with william moore's mother who doesn't want to talk on camera. she is heartbroken and in tears ands says her son is a good person and what is going on is not him. meanwhile the two children are currently in the custody of their grandparents. live in stafford county, jeff goldberg, abc7 news. leon: thank you, jeff. 15 people are facing charges following a drug raid on the maryland eastern shore. yesterday police say the suspects were involved in four separate drug trafficking organizations. they were distributing heroin, cocaine and prescription pills. officers seized $33,000 in cash along with several vehicles and firearms and a large quantity of drugs. all of the suspects facing multiple charges of possession with the intent to distribute. all of this is tied to the heroin highway. regional o

maureen: there is a man seen spraying lighter fluid on burning pro tain tank. he was also accused of setting fire to the police car and looting the c.v.s. store that burn and is facing 15 years in prison for that and unrelated shooting. leon: baltimore police officer has been found guilty of second-degree assault and misconduct for allegedly spitting on a suspect. video surfaced last fall that appeared to show sergeant robert messner spitting on a man who was handcuff and on the ground. he has been sentenced to two years probation and hit with a $500 fine. anger management counseling and community service. he will also be reassigned. maureen: a fairfax

woman st. patrick's day ended with a night in jail. heather gonyeau is accused of punching a police officer who was trying to calm down several people at the bar in fairfax named p.j. skoos bar. the person responsible for article about a gang rape in may is trying to avoid lawsuit. they filed a lawsuit saying the article portrayed her as a village. the woman claimed she was raped was subpoenaed for deposition. the daily progress newspaper reports jackie's attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the subpoena. jonathan elias joins us with a look at what is coming up at 6:00. jonathan: you have seen the cherry blossoms budding but the festival doesn't get kicked off until after the pink tie party. when we come back i'll show

leon: breaking news. word just coming in about the baltimore ravens corner back trey walker. he died late today after being involved in a motorcycle crash in miami a few days ago. police say the 23-year-old was riding a honda dirt bike that had no lights and he was wearing dark clothing at the time. the bike collided with another vehicle. maureen: a merger of two major grocery chains is putting eight area stores at risk. the union representing giant grocery store workers say eight stores may close or be sold after a merger with food lion. the stores are in southern maryland and the fredericksburg, virginia, area. the merger is not yet final but has been approved by shareholders. leon: the big moment arrived at the national

the area. the clouds ahead of the developing storm system take shape. they will move in as well. the future cast look at the time. 9:30 in the morning, an approximation of the timing and effect. but go with the storm system, start to the south and the west. it will wind up off the hatteras coast and move to sea. in the process in transit, northern side of it, it will pull northerly and the northeasterly wind to keep it chilly. above freezing but overhead a few thousand feet up where the precipitation are manufactured, those areas north and west of washington will be below freezing even though it is 40's on the ground. result is rain, may be mixed and change to snow in some areas, especially north and west in the higher elevations. that is the story saturday night. late saturday night, overnight to early sunday morning. by 9:00 a.m. in the morning most everything will be in the form of rain except for the highest elevations to the west. during the course of the day it will move out slowly but as you can see if this is accurate we have a ra
