when they went to arrest him in the case of jaydan stancil. reporting live, i'm tom roussey, abc7 news. alison: okay, tom. thank you very much. we turn now to more breaking news tonight. this time from metro. we have learned the acting chief safety officer has re-signed. and in his resignation letter, lewis brown says he has reached a career crossroads and needs to move on. he will stay on the job another month. this comes of course a week after the entire system was shut down for safety concerns. brown has been filling in since december. leon: u.s. special forces kill withhold they believe was isis' second in command. a pentagon official tells cnn that the original plan was to capture haji imam. they wanted to capture him alive. something happened, though, at the last minute to cause special ops to fire on his vehicle. he was believed to handle the

alison: that big blow to isis comes amidst a series of raids targeting isis terrorists. one of those arrested is believed to have played a role in tuesday's bombing that killed 31 people. our chief political correspondent scott thuman following this from the terrorism desk. two americans are among those killed? scott: you are right. siblings alexander and sasha were headed home to new york when the bombs exploded at the airport. alexander was on the phone with his mother when the line went dead. as we hear more stories like that, heart-breaking ones we are seeing investigators to connect the dots, resulting in the numerous, dramatic raids and arrests. a shoot-out led to the arrest officials say is linked to tuesday's deadly terror attacks in brussels. witnesses say they heard two explosions, then gunfire.

leon: police found a woman they say rammed her convertible in a man's car as part of a road rage case. the man says she accused him of being a member of isis as she hit his car repeatedly. cheryl conner spoke with the victim and asked we conceal his identity. >> she put scratches on the back of the bumper. cheryl: the driver wanted to share details to the scary moment. >> she would pull back and then a couple of inches from the bumper. cheryl: the incident started after 7:00 friday morning when the driver of the honda accord said he was on his way to work when she started tailgating him. the victim says the woman followed him for a few miles before he was able to pull over into a shopping center. it is what she did and what she said that surprised him. >> she said that i was in isis and i had been following her since 3:00 in the morning and i needed to go back to my country.

at least one person was arrested in connection with tuesday's dead lay tacks there. we have learned that two americans were at least the 31 who were killed. of the hundreds injured at least a dozen are americans. a maryland man is back home tonight after surviving that airport bombing. brian stanley took video and photos of his near brush with death there. he said his flight was originally scheduled for monday but got switched to tuesday which was the day of the attack. after it happened, it took two days for stanley to get a flight out of europe. he says it was love and support that helped him bring him back home. >> so many people letting me know they cared. and wanting to know if i was okay. i came home. that got me through it. leon: stanley by the way is a martial instructor. he was in europe training police officers there. alison: well, a man who used to live in fairfax arrested in north korea has apologized for being a south korean spy.

alison: a week from today a popular museum will reopen after closing for months for renovation. the national museum of the marine corps. the director may surprise you. it's not a marine and she is tonight's working women. in a recent survey of the best museums in the country, the national museum of the marine corps many is triangle, virginia, was ranked number two. lynn the museum director since it opened ten years ago is not a marine but is part of a family now. >> marine corps cares about the people within the organization. i care for them.

jeff goldberg found out that number is higher than normal. and he explains why. jeff: for tori anderson the freshman year at george mason has been dilled with plenty of great experiences. >> i've felt safe here. jeff: but like many students she was alarmed when she received alert from the administration that two rapes were reported by female students on or near campus in the past week. >> eye-opening. it can happen here. it doesn't happen at over campuses. jeff: we reviewed the george mason university police records for the past three months and found ten rape cases have been reported since january 1. shortly after the incident and others days, weeks, months later. in each of the ten cases the victim and the accused knew one another. in the most recent case reported early this past monday morning, the woman who reported the rape met the man through an online dating app. >> a lot of the cases do involve

alison: members of a church in tappahannock, virginia, will still come together on sunday to celebrate easter despite the fact the church is in pieces. it was destroyed in last month's tornadoes there. suzanne kennedy shows us how they still plan to celebrate the holy holiday. suzanne: on this holiest of weekends, members of a congregation are without the home church in which to worship. >> it's is hard to come here and see we don't have the church here anymore. this is just devastating. alison: st. john's church used to look like this. last month's attorneyeds with winds of 14
