>> and ted cruz characterized his victory as a turning point and rallying cry, barnstorming the state paid off for cruz soundly beating trump. he picked up nearly all of the state's 42 republican delegates. the trump campaign is not taking the loss gracefully. in a statement overnight, they caused cruz a trojan horse saying he's being used by party bosses to steal the nomination from trump. >> and continued to call him lying ted. and the trump campaign also accused cruz of illegally coordinating with super pacs. it's your voice, your vote. abc's tom llamas has more from milwaukee. >> reporter: seeksitiment and jubilation here at the senator ted cruz watch party in milwaukee, wisconsin, a huge night for the texas senator and a huge loss for donald trump. with this victory, cruz makes the argument that he can take this race possibly all the way to the convention floor. >> either before cleveland or at the convention in cleveland, together, we will win a majority of the delegates and together, we will beat hillary clinton in

top problem. >> moving on now, investigators searching for the cause of the helicopter crash in tennessee say the aircraft may have come into contact with the top of a ridge on the side of a mountain. four passengers and the pilot died when the chopper crashed and burned. the fact there's not much left of the helicopter complicates the investigation. the ntsb expects a preliminary report by the end of next week. breaking news from oklahoma. a massive wildfire is raging out of control. more than a dozen homes on the prairie have been evacuated. but more are in the path of the blaze along with a chemical plant. heavy machinery operator apparently barely escaped with his life. it's believed that the fire started when a downed power line began to spark. there are other smaller fires on the kansas side of the border. a new dashcam video this morning shows a frightening rollover crash in missouri. the police officer tried to pull over the driver who refused to

recapping this morning's top story. decisive victories for ted cruz and bernie sanders in the wisconsin primaries. ted cruz picked up nearly all of the state's republican delegates narrowing donald trump's path to the nomination and making a contested convention more likely. sanders' victory gives him a new wave of momentum ahead of the next key contest in new york in two weeks. but he's still trailing hillary clinton by far in the delegate count. well, there was another big contest in the midwest last night. uconn and syracuse in the national championship of women's college hoops. >> and probably to no one's surprise, the championship trophy is heading back to connecticut. abc's diane macedo is here with all of the details. good morning. fun game. >> reporter: it was. some people don't like the big spread. i found it really entertaining just because of the amount of things being set in history with all of this. it was a huge night for the team, a huge night especially for the seniors on the tea
