>> police are trying to figure out if a school bus driver or police officer is at fault after a bus and a cruiser collided in springfield. an officer was injured and two substitutes and chaperon along the bus but are all expected to be fine. the bus was heading back to mark twain elementary school after a field trip. we have word that the federal transit administration is inspecting the metro system tracks. the agency is calling this a safety blitz. this is focusing on ten segment of concern. past problem and recent federal inspections. they shouldn't have any impact on the riders. new today in the war on terror, belgium officials released new footage of a suspect that shows a man leaving the airport after the

attack. 32 people died in the attacks on airport and subway station last month. d.c. police chief cathy lanier says if the police didn't find anything new in the relisha rudd case after two days of searching in the national arboretum. officers working with the f.b.i. and the center for missing and exploited children wrapped up the search today. they focused on aban donned brick factory. it's three weeks away from the holiday inn where rudd was last seen on surveillance tape two years ago. tonight is the 13th year people will take back the night in prince george's county. roz plater is live in cheverly to explain the push against human trafficking and sexual assaults there. roz? roz: in an hour or so the prince george's hospital center will have a program here to focus on sexual violence and sexual trafficking. the shirts were made bizarres. the shirts come all sizes

leon: a new poll making news showing that 69% of americans have unfavorable impression of donald trump. today trump held a huge rally on long island. reminded the crowd about his opponent's ted cruz comment on the new york values. most of the candidates in new york are ahead of the empire state april 19 primary. king must have forgotten he was live on the air because at the end he remarked all of his comments were off the record. not so much. leon: after talking about using the tokens on the new york city subway.

leon: a new police training center is open in prince george's county. officials there held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for

trainees will find high-tech classrooms, gym for fitness and learning police tactics and there is equipment to simulate what they may find on a police call. the new recruit class starts training there 24 month. we are learning new information about the accident that called montgomery county police officer noah leotta back in december. newly released police report says that relzco drank at least six beers and four shots, smoked marijuana and zook a xanax before he got behind the wheel. he told investigators he saw the lights of leotta's cruiser ahead of him but couldn't tell which lane they were in. he remains behind bars. he is due in court next week. a local teenager endured up speakable moment of trauma. but 15-year-old maddy madison responded with remarkable courage. today she was recognized for her efforts. northern virginia bureau chief jeff goldberg was emcee for the vay lor awards and has -- valor awards and has more on her moment of

jeff: among the tirements and the police officers reck -- firefighters and the police officers recognizedded for the valor is maddy madison. the 15-year-old whose herorism stands as tall as the rest. >> january 15, 9:20 p.m. jeff: she and her mother denise returned to the ashburn home where they lived with denise's husband corey and four other siblings. maddy's biological father nguyen had stormed in the house shooting and killing corey. despite the ongoing threat, maddy, the oldest of the five rushed into the home and directed her siblings into a bathroom for cover. she then called 911 and directed officers to the house where they arrested nguyen. >> the strength of god or the fact that i really wanted my siblings to be safe. >> she is brave. absolutely brave and courageous. i don't think most adults could do what she said in that situation. >> today, maddy's bravery was honored with an award for valor and a standing vocation. they were there to throw out the first pitch today. they were shot responding to a domestic situation in woodbridge in february. you may recall the story. officer ashley guindon and the woman who called police to the home crystal hamilton were killed that day. today's opening day ceremony also included a moment of silence for officer guindon as well as officer noah leotta, officer jacai colson, lieutenant kevin mccray and officer rabain who died in the line of duty since july of last year. we appreciate their service and sacrifice. doug: indeed. leon: in the clear now? doug: almost. we have sunshine now but another batch of storm to tell you about. i think things will settle down this evening and good to know later tonight. first up, look at the doppler radar. on the right-hand side of your screen you are looking at cluster of heavy rain with thunder and lightning along the western suburb of baltimore. to the lower left-hand side of the screen we have a new batch of rain and thunderstorms that we are keeping track of. these turned
