making news in america this morning, tensions flaring on the campaign trail. now it's the democrats' feud heeding up. bernie sanders and hillary clinton stepping up the attacks and bill clinton in a feisty exchange with protesters. >> you are defending the people who cause young people to go out and -- >> exactly what set the former president off. we're live in washington. brussels's bombing and the man in the hat running from the scene when he is seen doing after the explosion. top down and running from the cops. a wild chase through hollywood but this is no movie. the bizarre pursuit all on camera. and shark scare. a surfer knocked off his board when a shark jumps out of the water. >> uh-oh.

and new hampshire and maine. more freezing temperatures again this weekend. the 20s in the northeast and you can see that freeze there, it's dipping far south. well, breaking overnight secretary of state john kerry is in iraq on a surprise visit. he'll meet with the prime minister and other iraqi leaders topping the agenda on this diplomatic mission the battle against isis. kerry was bahrain yesterday for a meeting on the conflicts in syria and yemen. well, nearly a month watch the cold-blooded deadly attack in the airport in brussels. one man linked to the bombing is still on the run and investigators don't know his name or where he might be hiding so released this video hoping to get leads. abc's alex marquardt has the latest from brussels. >> reporter: nose new images showing the man in the hat ca calmly walking away from the airport. just minutes earlier explosives ripping through the hall. the third attacker in his tan coat joining the fleeing masses, even running lik

him. then for almost an hour there were no cameras that picked him up. the authorizes say the man was walking through this town which is just outside the airport toward brussels. when he's next seen, the coat is gone. sleeves rolled up. his right arm raised like he's on the phone. authorities believe he walked the six miles into town where he's seen strolling on the sidewalk two hours after the blast. elbow patches on the shirt still wearing that hat. this small intersection is his last known location before vanishing. the police are hoping the public sees something they recognize to help lead them to the suspect. alex marquardt, abc news, brussels. president obama is on the west coast for a slew of star-studded democratic fund-raisers. the president landed last night at l.a.x. greeted by a waiting crowd. it came just hours after he took aim on republicans' attempts to block his nominee to the supreme court. merrick garland, until the next president is sworn in. at stake the crucial judic

you're watching a brazen gun store burglary in arlington texas that stole more than 50 guns including handguns and rifles before running. a large manhunt is now under way. well, hundreds gathered overnight in austin to remember the university of texas student found murdered. they held a moment of silence and spoke about their friend 18-year-old haruka weiser, the

brutal slaying of the theater and dance major has staunned th campus. a man seen riding here is a suspect in the case. weiser is described as a uniquely talented dancer by professors and classmates. well, police in washington state have apprehended one of two dangerous patients who escaped from a psychiatric hospital. 59-year-old mark adamsas spotted on a public bus but 28-year-old anthony gar ver still remains at large found not competent to stand trial two years ago accused of stabbing a woman 24 times in the chest before slashing her throat. they believe he hopped a bus to spokane. after nearly a hundred years this applies to the price of stamps. the price drops this weekend from 49 to 47 cents for a standard letter. a temporary price hike granted to the u.s. postal service in 2014 is expiring. the last time the postage rate decreased was 1919. the senate

his name is sj for smoky jr. and these were the moments after firefighters rescued him from a 277-acre brush fire that damaged several homes north of orlando, florida. you can see his hair is a little zinged and florida, fish and wildlife is checking him out to make sure he's going to be okay. heading out on your commute expect wet conditions from california to west texas and indiana to tennessee into the northeast. you may also find some ice around the great lakes. and if you're flying you may find airport delays in chicago, detroit, las vegas and phoenix. well, the roads were slick in los angeles yet setting the stage for a particularly wild police chase.

involved a convertible with its top down spinning around in doughnuts on sunset boulevard of all places. abc's diane macedo joining us news with the latest on this crazy story. >> good morning to you. so this started with a burglary, two suspects, a convertible and some rain and ended with many viral videos and no doubt many confused police officers. it's hardly the first police chase captured on live television, but it might be the most bizarre. a convertible raced through the streets of l.a. in the rain with the top down for more than an hour with police in hot pursuit sort of it began around 2 p.m. as the call came in and cops started following the mustang and two suspects but while people running from cops try to disappear these guys seemed to want attention or to get wet kicking things off by putting the top down with the rain pouring, the car then picked up speed and drives so dangerously the police cars back off and with though cops behind them the driver starts doing doughnuts across all lanes of

makes two different trips down hollywood boulevard as spectators cheer them on. it is just one of many areas where the passengers stand and waves to onlookers as though on parade, a parade nearly stopped by a tmz bus but not quite. eventually it pulls over on a south l.a. side street. here is where things get weird. the driver sits on the hood of the car as both men exchange hug, high-fives and even selfies with the group standing on the sidewalk. >> he shook my hand. i told him, i said, hey, man, the police are going to be here soon. don't resist, don't cause any problems. i say, because they're really mad at you guys. >> reporter: when sheriff's againties arrive the two calmly surrender because, you know, you don't want to make a scene. the mustang did clip another car but luckily no one was hurt in the incident. tmz says the bus driver that nearly ended the chase didn't even know it was happening and happened to be changing lanes. >> that was incredible video, diane.

had their hands full with a dramatic rescue in moral bay, 27-year-old michael banks had scaled the 600-foot moro rock. got stuck 80 feet up and he did it all to propose to his girlfriend live on facetime. well, fire crews came to the rescue with a helicopter and a bill for the cost of the rescue, but that's not all. police say banks, banks was high on amphetamine. they arrested him for possession. the good news is that his girlfriend, she actually said yes. >> that's the good news. sports at the masters. jordan spiegth picked up where e left off in first place for ernie els things didn't get off to a good start. check out els on the 1st hole green missing short putt after short putt after short putt and he put it in. officially scores a nine. either way els

accident involving a pedestrian on massachusetts avenue in northwest. officials say the pedestrian was struck and pinned under the vehicle until emergency workers arrived. the victim was later pronounced dead. the driver of the vehicle is now being treated for non-life threatening injuries. the cause of the accident is still under investigation. we are learning new details about the accident that killed a maryland police officer-- as a lawmakers debate a bill named in his honor. police say luis rugh-looz-ko had at least 6 beers and 4 shots- and had smoked weed before he got behind the wheel and struck officer noah lee-otta last december. time is ticking for what's now being called noah's law. the legislature has three days left in session- as lawmakers try to iron out differences with 2

requiring ignition locks for all convicted drunk drivers. today.. d-c police are promising to crack down on a-t-v and dirtbike riders after a string of dangerous encounters in the district. last weekend, a d-c police officer was surrounded and dragged by a gang of riders. this week- a stopped ambulance was swarmed by a-t-v riders. officers had to come free the ambulance before it could take a child patient to the hospital. police chief cathy lanier says this so-called game, has come to an end. nearly 100 people have been arrested this year- and 400 bikes confiscated. police are offering 250 dollars to anyone who can identify suspects in these cases- or help locate the illegal bikes and atvs.
