week-long and emotional trial. i can tell you a very tight knit group of people knew about the plea deal. no reporters were present when ellis pled to two counts of vehicular manslaughter. most will remember the terrible crash from last june along a windy two-lane road in north pa toe mack. 18-year-old merck and calvin lee died in wreckage. today police revealed ellis' car dipped in a culvert and went airborne traveling 110 feet. the vehicle frame ripped apart by two trees and flew through the air. i landed on its hood and slid to a stop in a rational driveway. prosecutors went on to state and i quote -- "mr. ellis was driving the vehicle at a bare bones minimum of 65 miles per hour." this on a road with a posted speed limit of 35. >> this is a tro

difficult case. is a tragedy. we will ask for jail time. we believe he should be held accountable. kevin: to that point a judge could sentence samuel ellis to up to 20 years in prison. both sides the defense and prosecution say that will most likely be in the range of three months to eight years in prison. live in rockville, i'm kevin lewis. maureen: thank you. the man who admitted carjacking an ambulance and causing a deadly crash will spend 16 years in prison. a judge sentenced isaacson today. he pleaded guilty to d.u.i., motor vehicle manslaughter and carjacking. police say he was drunk when he crashed his car in december of 2014. when an ambulance arrived to hem him, isaacson punched a paramedic, stole an ambulance and caused another crash in greenbelt that killed 77-year-old alvin hargrave. a woman was also

prosecutors sought 25-year sentence for isaacson. leon: maryland lawmakers have until monday to pass noah's law. while it passed passed in both chambers, differences in language in both houses requires reconciliation and another vote. it would require anyone convicted of drunk driving to have an ignition interlock device placed inside the vehicle. the legislation is named after the montgomery county police officer noah leotta who was killed by a suspected drunk driver. maureen? maureen: noah's law isn't the only big piece of legislation left for the final hours of the maryland general assembly. as we report, the remaining bill face uncertain futures. >> as they arrive at the statehouse, maryland lawmakers are greeted by folks wearing surgical masks. all to promote a bill requiring most employers to give their workers up to seven days of paid sick leave a year. >> you know, this is a bill about the family values. a big that says that we want peep to be able to stay home when they are sick. reporter: the house alre
