neighborhood where a little girl was shot in the chest late friday night. it happened in 2900 knox place, a few blocks from garfield elementary school. diane cho is there live as the walk is about to begin. diane? diane: the mayor is going to hold a press conference first. as soon as that is over she will walk the streets out here in this community with d.c. police trying to gather more information about what unfolded out here on friday night. police say the 7-year-old little girl was struck by a stray bullet as she was coming home from dinner with her parents. police have been out knocking on doors ever since, canvassing the area to find out more about the gunman. they have been working around the clock since it happened to get to the bottom of the case. the assistant police chief says the little girl appears to be caught in a crossfire. the child's father's actions that night likely saved his daughter's life. >> t

the 20-year-old suspect. the burglary call came in last night at 11:20 at the indus food international market in lauren. police arrived and found a suspect. 15-year-old male running from the scene. he ignored commands to stop. so an officer fired a taser at the teenager who was later treated and released from the hospital. a group of four others entered the rear entrance of the grocery store when an officer noticed move in the the dark. he became startled and he jumped back. in the process the officer's gun accidentally discharged, striking a 20-year-old suspect. the suspect was trying to hide lying down on a piece of sheet metal inside the store. the officer is a swat team member and firearms instructor. >> he immediately rendered aid to the victim. even consoling him

michelle: another busy weekend for candidates in vote 2016. scott thuman is here to break it all down. topping the headlines, donald trump complaining about the system being rigged when it comes to the delegate count in colorado. scott: yeah. specifically about colorado. he has been quiet. we hadn't heard a ton from him. then over the weekend in what is not the traditionable frame of thought on -- traditional frame of thought on how colorado vote. they have a state convention where representatives of the party go. they vote on who the delegates are that will go to the national convention. they will cast their vote. cruz won there and he swept. as a result, donald trump says the system is rigged. this is unfair. colorado average citizens didn't get to vote.

representatives got to have a convention. because ted cruz had a better ground game in that particular system and lobbied for the support, donald trump didn't do as much. he lost. now we are hearing complaining from him. michelle: we are seeing that donald trump is missing out on some votes because his kids missed a deadline to register. scott: new york is a closed primary state. you have to be a registered republican to vote in the republican primary. two of his eldest children had not officially registered as republicans. they were democrats in the past. they didn't register as republicans and they can't vote for their father in the coming weeks. michelle: let's talk about the democrats now. bernie sanders in one conner and hillary in the other duking it out in brooklyn. scott: new york is interesting. this is an adopted state for hillary clinton. senate from there, we know. bernie sanders from there

senate bill 924 to the senate and they will concur this and it will be provided across the state. jonathan: tell us what the bill does. and the authority it will would give law enforcement. >> what the senate bill 924 in the current form does is provide additional protection for harassment and malicious destruction of property and allow for the judges to give protective orders to women survivorring from the type of abuse. this abuse often escalates to physical abuse and death. so the language as it sits allow for protective order to be issued for harassment and destruction of prompt. jonathan: the issues have come up before in front of lawmakers. why is there any resistance at all? angela: this is a
