governor larry hogan is applauding lawmakers for passing new drunk driving legislation late last night. the bill called "noah's law" would require people arrested for d-u-i offenses to have ignition interlock devices installed on their vehicles. the measure passed the senate and house less than an hour before the end of the legislative session, after a day of political wrangling and compromising. montgomery county police officer noah leotta was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver back in december. we'll tell hear what governor hogan is saying about the bill, coming up in a few minutes.

good morning washington has a health alert for you.. the country's top medical officials are asking for more resources to fight the zika virus. doctors say the outbreak is "scarier" than originally feared. the obama administration is now asking congress for an additional two-billion dollars to fight the virus. the centers for disease control and prevention now says zika has shown up in 30 states... and is linked to a growing number of birth defects. just last week, the white house announced plans to transfer leftover funds from the ebola outbreak to fight zika. the current and requested funding will go toward vaccine development, mosquito control and patient treatment. meanwhile-- the head of the u-s military is reminding troops to stay out of politics. the joint chiefs of staff will draft a letter this week, reminding both troops and highra
