caused all of this wreckage. when you see the pictures of the crash come you understand why the trooper remains in critical condition. it was a terrible crash. happened, the trooper was sitting in his car, writing a report, gathering information, when he was struck from behind twice. the damage to the crushed police cruiser is hard to look at. >> this was a terrible crash. richard: the trooper terribly injured by the impact of the es on the left. at 2 p.m., the trooper was sitting in his cruiser investigating an earlier crash. in front of him was a car come in front of that a tow truck. just to the north, the driver identified as a 60-year-old from new jersey was involved in a four car accident. the three other vehicle stayed on the scene.

death of montgomery county police officer noah leotta. luis reluzco could face 10 years in prison for vehicular manslaughter. the police say he was drunk when he struck noah leotta last year. the plea deal could happen at a hearing next month. this week, maryland lawmakers passed noah's law, require ignition interlock devices in the cars of drunk drivers. a woman is in custody for domestic related shooting in sterling. the police say that emily king shot a man during an altercation on east and dartmouth drive. the victim has serious but non-life-threatening injuries. king was on the run most of the day but tonight is behind bars with no bond. leon: fairfax police are reaching out to the residents of a senior community after an elderly woman was assaulted inside of her home. today the police released a sketch

leon: in texas, a deputy constable is expected to recover after being shot several times in the back overnight. he was training another officer and leaning into the window of her cruiser during a traffic stop when somebody pulled up from behind and fired several shots. fortunately, the deputy was wearing a protective vest which probably saved his life. >> he was shot in the back. all the bullets were lodged in his body. questioned aice man who matched the description of the shooter, but have not said he is a suspect and have not arrested him. the police are not actively looking for anyone else. york teenager is now blind in one eye after an e-cigarette explosion. a warning that what you were about to see is graphic.
