an accident. died in theider shooting friday night at double hills. "family does not begin to describe the sense of feeling i feel towards firefighter families. my husband listed each and every one of them is a hero." the other victim, kevin swain, is recovering from surgery. fire officials say they responded to a call from a man who was worried that his brother was suffering a diabetic injury. investigators say they believe the man inside feared it was a home invasion and fired his gun, hitting all three firefighters. no charges are being filed. to aax will be presented grand jury. fire officials are promising a new look as to how the calls are handled. alison:

now, shot on by job, a mail carrier hit gunfire, the double shooting happening in broad daylight. it's not the only shooting in southeast tonight, where roz plater joins us with the investigation. alison, i met the seventh district police station. where theock away is second shooting of the night happened, the same street where a seven-year-old girl was shot 10 days ago. are so on edge that the neighborhood church canceled prayer meetings tonight. one of the shootings happened at 16th and galen street at 5 p.m. a car rolled up and somebody inside just started shooting. on this busy street on a warm day with children playing outside. two people were struck in the leg, when a juvenile, another a mail carrier. so far they have little to go on.

say there was another shooting, somebody opening fire on knox play southeast, and one of the bullets struck a juvenile. the neighbor said they are living in fear. >> broad daylight, people coming home from work, their kids coming home from school. it's like they have no regard for life. roz: this is the same street where a seven-year-old girl was hit with a bullet just 10 days ago walking home from her family -- walking home with her family and community members are first-rate it. >> no person in their right mind would do this. roz: they are asking why there cannot be beefed up police presence as a deterrent. time, the seventh district is right on the corner. it should be an embarrassment to every single one of them until this stops. roz: all three victims have non-life-threatening injuries. that is the good news. anybody with

asked to call the police. roz plater, abc 7 news. leon: he is accused in a horrible child born in school investigation, even confessed, but deonte carraway's lawyers want the confession tossed out. their claim is he did not understand. tom roussey has the new developments in this case. the latest, tom? tom: deonte carraway's attorneys have filed for pages trying to get his confession thrown out, and four more pages trying to get the evidence thrown out that will make up much of the prosecution's case. the authority say that on two cell phones owned by deonte found videos is of children having sex with each other and deonte carraway directing them. his lawyers say the police violated his fourth amendment privacy rights
