nomination. >> reporter: clinton holds a double digit lead over bernie sanders who addressed striking verizon work in other words manhattan. he drew a massive crowd of 28,000 in brooklyn over the weekend and packed another big rally monday. but if he loses new york by ten points, he will need to win 80% of the remaining delegates to clinch the nomination. donald trump is ready to romp on tuesday, polls show he could win new york with more than 50% of the vote. he campaigned in upstate buffalo monday night. >> we're going to get to that big 1237. >> reporter: he says he's not worried about competing with rival ted cruz for delegates. >> nobody has better toys than i do. i can put them in the best planes and bring them to the best resores anywhere in the world but it's a corrupt system. you're basically buying these people. >> reporter: out of the running in new york, tez ez cruz said his strategy to grab delegates innored by trump will win him victory at a contested

total will be on the first ballot and he will go steadily down. >> reporter: for now, new york promises to be a welcome reset for both front runners. megan hughes, abc news, washington. >> more than 11,000 people turned out at a hockey arena in buff loy for tt's final rally before the primary. he tried to invoke the 9/11 attacks while praising new york values but he miss spoke. >> because i was down there and i watched our police and our firemen down at at world trade center on 7-eleven. >> trump kept talking apparently not realizing he mistakenly said 7-eleven instead of 9/11 and supporters didn't seem to mind. 200 additional u.s. troops mostly special forces are ped hadding to iraq to join the battle against isis. secretary of defense ash carter made the announcement during a stop in baghdad and for the first time in the fight against isis, eight apachech helicopters are also being sent to iraq. the arrival of the troops marks the first major increase

now to a bizarre incident at a u.s. base in turkey when two turkish nationalists tried to put a bag over a u.s. soldier's head. members of the turkish youth union posted the incident online claiming it was in retaliation for u.s. troops wrongly arresting members of the turkish military in 2003 and putting bags over their heads. that was viewed in turkey as a deliberate insult. >> israel vowing to quote settle the score with terrorists it says are responsible for a bus bombing in jerusalem. more than 20 people on board the bus were injured. two seriously. the incident has raised fears about a return to the deadly palestinian suicide bombings on buses a decade ago. hamas praised the bombing but didn't take responsibility for it. survivors still being pulled from the rubble of ecuador's massistic quake. the latest are three people rescued from a flattened shopping center trapped under the debris for nearly a day and a half.

7.8 quake has climbed to more than 400. at least one killed was an american. now to a natural disaster in this country. the torrential rains in the south. at least fub people have drowned in the floods in and around houston and hundreds of homes are damaged. there have been nearly 900 rescueses from the floods watereds. roads are closed throughout south texas all but paralyzings the region which is under a flash flood watch through the night. we'll have much more from the region in our next half hour. the eight justices on the ream court appear evenly divided over president obama's plan to shield nearly 4 million people from deportation. if the court sflits with a 4-4 vote, that would leave the program in legal limbo. abc's jim avila has the latest from the court. >> reporter: immigration, the flashpoint dividing the nation. tonight, on the doorstep of the supreme court, in perhs its biggest case of the term. texas leads 25 other states,

gone too far with executive actions, granting millions of otherwise law-abiding undocumented immigrants the right to stay and work in the u.s. >> one person doesn't have the unilateral authority to change the law or make new law. >> reporter: texas admitted under tough questioning from supreme court justices that congress has not given the president enough money to deport all 11 million immigrants here illegally. so obama does have the legal right to make decisions about who gets to stay. with the death of justice scalia, the court now appears divided, 4-4, along conservative and liberal lines. because we don't have scalia, what does 4-4 mean? the government loses, if it's 4-4, right? >> if it's 4-4, the federal government loses. the lower court opinion, which found against the program stays in effect. >> reporter: that would be a big loss for president obama. his immigration policies and the court itself concerned about appearing partisan and ineffective.

supreme court. also at the supreme court, google scored a victory. justices turned down an appeal to stop the company from scanning millions of books and making them searchable online. authors are said that the google books project was copyright infringement on an epic scale but google has said this gives readers a new way to find books and therefore, is good for authors. >> did you file your tax returns by last night's deadline? did you. >> i did. last minute but i got it in there. >> i got an extension in. >> procrastinater. >> if not, the irs will assess fines and penalties but notice indian city of bangalore, they have gone even further. >> this city literally drums up embarrassment for.cans that don't pay up. the bands stand outside of businesses that haven't paid their taxes to make sure everybody knows. the message seems to be working after getting a visit from one of these bands,

desperate search for two brothers you be suspected of murdering a missing couple. the fugitives considered armed and dangerous. >> the public should absolutely be worried. >> reporter: the married couple patrick shunn and monique patenaude disappeared last monday. four days later, police finding their two vehicles dumped in the woods 15 miles from their home. authorities telling abc news unreleased surveillance video ties the suspects, john and tony reed, to the disposing of the victims' vehicles. >> based on evidence collected from the missing couple's vehicles, as well as evidence collected from the former john reed residence, detectives believe patrick and monique were murdered. >> reporter: the four had property disputes, according to police. family members saying in a statement, the couple had been married only four years. "wherever they are, they are together." this manhunt now entering its eighth day. police telling us they have no idea where the suspects are but they do believe they fled in their parents' vehicle. kayna whitworth, abc news, los angeles. so let's end this block
