annandale. what happened? suzanne: this is the community where the mother lived with the three children. yesterday she asked a man who police describe as her boyfriend to take her three children ages ten, 15, two -- 10, 15, 2 to school and daycare. the two older children made it. the young girl, the baby girl did not. authorities are telling us this is what happened yesterday. the toddler was left in the vehicle from 8:00 until 3:00 in the afternoon. at the time the temperature was rising and eventually got into the low 70's. it wasn't until the 31-year-old went to pick up the children's mother at her job at pentagon city when he realized what had happened. >> he gets to arlington and getting out of the car. looks in the backseat, realizes the child is there. goes to attend to her and realizes she is unresponsive. immediately calls 911. suzanne: this is a large apartmentc

pickup truck tried to lure three children into his vehicle. so the kids were outside. they were playing hide and seek when it happened. police say they were between 8 and 11 yars old and they were able to run away and get help. police just a vague description at this point of who approached an 11-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl in south arlington. that was earlier this month. those kids were out on a playground. the one behind the arbor heights apartment on 8th street south. in that case the children also describe the suspect as driving a dark colored older model pickup truck. if you have any information on either of the cases or, of course, if your child is approached in any way, you are asked to call police. jonathan? jonathan: all right. thanks. look at that. the white house today. but looks like there are clouds through the area. michelle: gray day. but still warm. jonathan: the stretch of gorgeous dry weather has been nice for us but not so great

firefighter alive. they're not saying much when it comes to the search for nicole mittendorff. we are joined by madison county where it's coming to the end of the sixth day. jeff goldberg? jeff: probably a couple of hours from the search coming in. we are at cecan't rock overlook at skyline drive at shenandoah national park. searchers for six days and today have been deep in the terrain here. to show you the challenge they are dealing with. steep cliffs everywhere. jagged rocks and boulders. dramatic and big fire in the park so the smoke in the sky adding to the challenges just a bit. the command post for the search is a big meadows camp ground about four miles from where we are standing now. 80 people part of the search crew today including two kit rescue teams and a helicopter crew. since this search began, crews covered 15 square miles from the area we are now to

of the white house. joce sterman, what does he face? joce: the sentence came down ten minutes ago. federal judge sentencing douglas hughes to 120 days in the bureau of prisons, one of their facilities and one year of super vised release. this is an interesting sentencing hearing this afternoon. took four hours, with douglas hughes comparing himself to civil rights leaders martin luther king junior, rosa park, harriet tubman, authors, all kind of people. the judge disagreed saying this is not a nonviolent act of civil disobedience. even though they claimed it was a license violation. we are talking about something from april 15, 2015. hughes landing a gyrocopter on the grounds of the capitol. the judge was critical of his defense in this, that he notified the government letting them know he would be taking this flight. when in reality he sent 80 e-mails ot
