leon: d.c. public schools will test hundreds of students at three schools after the parents discovered that the lead level in the water they were drinking are 20 times the acceptable level. capitol hill monte sorry, payne -- montessori, payne and minor elementary school. they knew about the high lead levels but they didn't tell anyone or do anything about it. parents found out through a blog. alison: dozen of fairfax county firefighters will join the ground search now for missing firefighter nicole mittendorff. it's now been more than a week since anyone heard from her. jeff goldberg is live in the shenandoah national park where mittendorff's car was found. that was over the weekend. jeff? jeff: we are standing at crescent rock overlook. that is miles away from where the vehicle was found over last weekend. search crews are out covering mainly the southern end of the park. they are dealing with really difficult terrain. you ha

the steep canyon. rock everywhere. thick brush. starting this weekend, saturday and sunday, 30 members of the fairfax county firefighter search and rescue team are scheduled to begin that search for one of their own. it has been a long and challenging search that has so far yielded few results. >> we searched 15 square miles as of now. jeff: claire says 80 people take part in the search including the k9 rescue crews and a helicopter unit dealing with the jagged rocks, steep canyons and thick brush. >> the terrain is really, really challenging once you get off the trail. jeff: nicole mittendorff called in sick from work on wednesday and reported missing friday after not showing up for a scheduled shift. her mini cooper found last saturday in white oak canyon section of shenandoah national park where the search began. >> tonight is about nicole. jeff: last night at station 32 in fairfax station where mittendorff sve

rain north of the fire area. running parallel to interstate 81. we will get a lightning flash in the area but the rain is mauving northeast. most of the rain is still much farther west. but in these areas at least where it has been abnormally dry, they are getting good soaking rain with the system. that is good news indeed. as we pull back look farther west to see the next area of rain and the cold front. upper level low spins around with nice shape. this is weakening. it will control the weather for the next 24 hours. driving the cold front and increasing the shower of the isolated thunderstorms tomorrow. the future cast shows morning hours there are scattered showers at 9:00 a.m. heavier showers south and west through southwest north carolina. then in the afternoon maybe become more numerous. the possibility as we get through the late afternoon and the evening, it'slated thunderstorms as the system is closer. the spin there was an upper level low coming in. that will pretty much end the rain chances. we think on saturday morning. maybe lingering h

existing fence. in one instance a man actually made it inside the white house before being captured. leon. leon: d.c. police say a cab driver fled from officers and hit several cars before he was stopped. the chase ended with a crash. the cab driver was taken to the hospital. there is no word on his condition. he hit nine vehicles including a police car. no word on what may have led to the chase. alison: he wouldn't hurt a fly. that is what the family of 45-year-old paul gionellos told stephen tschida. he was autistic and died yesterday in a confrontation with fairfax county police. investigators say he wandered away in an outing at round tree park in falls church. a police officer found him nearby but says that gione -- gianelos attacked him three. other officers arrived to restrain him. after the struggle police say he collapsed and died a short while later. neighr

alison: we begin with breaking news. this is in the search for missing firefighter nicole mittendorff. michelle is in the newsroom. there is a surprising find? michelle: we are learning a body has been found. female body has been found in shenandoah national park. this news release just coming down minutes ago. here is what they say. the ground team of the national park service and virginia state police located the body at 2:00. i'll read this off for you. just getting it here. national park service says that they found the body about a mile from the white oak canyon parking area. that is significant because that is just a short distance away from where nicole mittendorff's vehicle was found just a few days ago. while there is no confirmation that this body is that of nicole mittendorff, it is significant that this body that has
