alison: we begin with breaking news. this is in the search for missing firefighter nicole mittendorff. michelle is in the newsroom. there is a surprising find? michelle: we are learning a body has been found. female body has been found in shenandoah national park. this news release just coming down minutes ago. here is what they say. the ground team of the national park service and virginia state police located the body at 2:00. i'll read this off for you. just getting it here. national park service says that they found the body about a mile from the white oak canyon parking area. that is significant because that is just a short distance away from where nicole mittendorff's vehicle was found just a few days ago. while there is no confirmation that this body is that of nicole mittendorff, it is significant that this body that has

located just a short distance from where her vehicle was located. we are expecting a news conference to happen at 7:30. we are told that this is going to be a news conference involved with several agencies that have been involved in this search. our jeff goldberg is currently at the park but that park is so enormous that it will take him some time to get to this area where the body was found because we are told it's very rocky terrain, difficult to get to. remote section of the shenandoah national park. as soon as he is there and in position and can relay new information we will pass it along to you. back to you. leon: all right. thank you, michelle. big development there. another big one worldwide we are following today. r&b, pop, rock 'n' roll, prince was a performer who rarely comes along. a true music legend found dead at 57. reaction pouring in now

so young. leon: with the diskography, the catalog is huge. it would take you two minutes to produce maybe a day-long back-to-back marathon for him. what are you going to do over there? >> well, i tell you what. right now we just kicked off a few minutes ago the tribute to prince, playing prince songs in a row. especially if you are still struck in traffic trying to get home. prince will cheer you up, especially on a day with tragic news. we have been playing a ton of prince all day. we have been getting phone calls. we have been getting facebook messages. tweets as well. everyone has the same matter of being shocked. leon: everyone has a special song. what is yours?

thed government buildings including the school. the public did not find out about dangerous level of lead until nine months after the test. tests last august showed higher than acceptable lead levels in the water at three d.c. elementary schools. payne, minor, and here at capitol hill montessori at logan. all the parents happen to find out when they saw the results in a blog. >> we weren't notified when they found high lead levels. >> i'm concerned about it and angry as a parent here and parent as everyone in the system. there are problems to other schools and as a taxpayers. >> test by the city department of general services found lead levels up to 20 times the acceptable 15 parts per billion at the montessori. in payne at one faucet 500 times. a lot came out today at a council hearing for education where a councilmember called at it sig

member allen asked why d.g.s. is not sharing results with parents. >> that is unacceptable. unacceptable that the parents weren't told immediately that they could be concerned about the health and safety of the child. >> parents complain after d.g.s. retested at logan and found two faucets with high lead levels and never notified anybody. >> need to be immediately notified when the lead test results come back. positive or negative. sam: they provide testing for hundreds of children in the three affected schools. d.g.s. will be before the d.c. council to answer questions tomorrow. spokesman for the agency says they are going to improve the communication and talk to people about the results. instead of in any cases issuing reports that hae to be deciphered. reporting live i'm sam ford, abc7 news. alison: thank you very much. coming up

tonight a survivor of do mest vike lens shares her experience and sees a lot of similarities. maryland bureau chief brad bell explains. brad: ten years ago yvette was set on fire by her abusive husband. she survive and is now an advocate for abusessed women. tonight she is speaking out about the charges against ron bateman. >> i'm devastated an official was charged. brad: he is accused of hitting his wife after she made this 911 call -- mrs. bateman and the sheriff now deny there was any violence. >> i never, never, assaulted elsie. brad: while bateman is presumed innocent of all charges yvette says she recognizes her past in the case! she is a
