morning behind a high school. a man approached him. a brief struggle ensued. the boy was able to get away. we are told he is a senior here at wilson high school. he was stabbed in the light before he got away. he came into the school and told a stitcher -- teacher he had been stabbed. the teacher called 911 and he was taken to the hospital. the suspect is described as hispanic in his 30's in dark clothing. he took off into the woods behind wilson high school. there was a brief search that came up with nothing. crime scene technicians are working around the student's car behind the high school trying to figure out what happened. i talked to some of the student's friends and they tell me they have been messaging with him and he is expected to be ok. life at wilson high school, sam sweeney. back to you. jummy: scary stuff. house on the scene at a fire in

photos. when firefighters arrived, the fire was showing through the roof. it caused significant damage to the home. more than 200 firefighters responded and were able to quickly put out the flames. no word on injuries or what caused the fire. but we will stay on top of this story on-air and online at wjla.com. police are combing through clues in a murder in montgomery county. the victim only 18. he was found dead in a park last night. police say gang activity might be to blame. as suzanne kennedy tells us, it has community members on edge. reporter: this is where the latest homicide in the county happened. authorities are left to figure out who committed this violent act in a park in a quiet residential neighborhood. the violent act took place overnight yards from west to elementary school. crime scene tape

place that is supposed to be safe. authorities say the 18-year-old male was assaulted at the park andrew driven to a hospital where he died. >> investigators are looking at the possibility he may have had withprevious association his assailant or attackers. reporter: the park includes a ball field and playground and sits adjacent to a quiet neighborhood. residents awoke to the news of the murder, a rare occurrence in this area of montgomery village. >> we don't have homicide. we don't have many robberies. we don't have a lot of crime. that is part of the reason we live here. >> we don't have those things happen around here. it makes it a little scary. reporter: police expect to have more information on the case later today, including the victim's identity. suzanne kennedy, abc 7 news. jummy:

county police investigating what they have called a suspicious death. a family member found the 21-year-old inside a home in centerville on sunday. police are only saying there was trauma to the upper body. neighbors told us they heard screaming coming from the townhouse. police are looking into the victim's past to piece things together. this just in to the newsroom. a federal appeals court has ruled tom brady must serve a four-game suspension for deflategate. in january of 2015 during the afc championship game, members of the cold accused the patriots of using inflated football. brady was issued a suspension, but an appeals court decided he did not have to serve it. today's ruling reverses that decision. stay with us for the latest on this one. enjoy the sunshine today. a live look at the white house. a beautiful start to the workweek. doug hill is here with how warm it will get. doug: probably upper 70's and close to 80.
