turning to dr. ben carson. carson famously joked about being sidelined in the debates. >> i was going to ask you to wake me up when the time came. >> reporter: but now, he'll have his say on trump's vp search committee. carson has no government experience, but he'll help find someone who does. trump on "gma" saying that's what he wants. >> it will be probably a person with political experience. i would like to have somebody that could truly be good with respect to dealing with the senate, dealing with congress, getting legislation passed. >> reporter: that could mean he's looking at someone like former house speaker newt gingrich, who's been supportive. or iowa senator joni ernst. >> i grew up castrating hogs on an iowa farm. >> reporter: a harley-riding veteran trump could turn into a household name. or he could pick a governor like indiana's mike pence or florida's rick scott. campaign sources tell me that the trump children who campaigned so much during the primaries will now be dispatched

to important states to campaign by themselves, to help out and also to carry the trump flag. tom llamas, abc news, new york. okay, so, donald trump is getting a chilly reception from the republican establishment, including the bush family. a spokesperson for former president george w. bush says he does not plan to participate or comment in the presidential campaign. and the first president bush has no plans to endorse trump, either, saying he's retired from politics. this, by the way, this will be the first time in the last five election cycles that bush 41 has not endorsed a republican nominee. the latest national poll has clinton beating donald trump by double digits. clinton still has to get pass by bernie sanders, but she has 93% of the delegates she needs to clinch the nomination. she's already turning her attention to donald trump. reminding voters of his history of making explosive and devicive comments.
