she fell asleep on a metro train and will come to a horrifying attack. a woman raped that knifepoint while riding the train. was the only station in court today as the suspect faced a judge, and so many are asking how this could have happened. leon: jay korff has the developments. the suspect has a long rap sheet? jay: indeed, according to court testimony, the suspect has multiple sex related convictions dating back to 1995. he is accused of raping a woman on an outbound red line train in april. the public did not hear about this case until today. on news of a suspected rape a moving metro train has riders shaken. >> she will be traumatized the rest of her life. the victim, a woman in her 30's, w

12. before 10 a.m. to find her self alone in a car with a man she identified as 39-year-old john hicks. prosecutors say that he tried to rape the woman at knifepoint while the train was traveling. he then forced her to the back of the train where he sexually assaulted her. the attack last it multiple stops. youvictim said she did what was told, believing the suspect would kill her if she did not comply. when the train stopped at glenmont, the man left, swiping his smartrip card. that is how the police tracked them down. we are asked why we were not told of the threat. because it had been contained because of the quick arrest. riders did not follow that logic. they have him in

this was near shady grove road. hit with so much force that it separated the engine from the car. no word of the calls or the victim's condition. serious accusation being made against a school resource officer in montgomery county. past,eady has a checkered but now there is an investigation into a use of force against a female student at the prom. roz plater has the story. roz: we just got the information about an hour ago. they were concerned this officer was still on duty at the school. late tonight we learn he will be reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation. montgomery county police confirm seenf its officers vega, in this video, is being

after the department received multiple complaints about the inappropriate use of force following the school prom. he is a school resource officer who had been assigned to sherwood high school. may 14, they held prom at the bethesda marriott. upicers had to round students had been drinking and officer vega had to restrain one of them. the student was a female, she had not been trekking, but was involved in a verbal altercation with another student. put say that officer vega her in a headlock, took her to the ground, pin her arms behind her, and held her for a wall before releasing her. another police officer watched what was going on, but did not intervene. we are told the incident was captured on hotel surveillance tape. investigators are reviewing that as well as questioning witnesses. we rea

and are still waiting to hear from them. roz plater, abc 7 news. alison: roz, thank you. virginia's top leader is under investigation by the feds. governor terry mcauliffe is facing legal and ethical questions over campaign contributions, this is former governor bob mcdonnell is set to appeal a federal conviction for corruption. tom roussey reports. cnn reports the fbi and justice department prosecutors are investigating virginia's governor. it involves whether a certain donation to his 2013 campaign broke the law. mcauliffe is a close friend of bill and hillary clinton. the fbi is looking into his time globale clinton's initiative, set up by the former president. they are also looking at $120,000 in

to his campaign made by a chinese businessman. in a statement, mcauliffe's attorney said, "we cannot confirm the cnn report. neither the governor nor his former campaign have knowledge of the matter, but as reported contributions were completely lawful. cooperate withll the government if he is contacted about it." settling said, "it is in concerning to hear that -- unsettling and concerning to hear that governor mcauliffe has received campaign contributions from chinese nationals. governor mcauliffe should return the money immediately." tom roussey, abc 7 news. a baltimore police officer cleared in connection with the death of freddie gray. the officer's father is talking about what his son has been through in the past year. jonathan elias has that. jonathan: he is not too happy. the judge a

edward nero. he had opted for a bench verdict rather than a jury. next up is the administrative review which will determine whether nero should be punished and what the punishment might be. with the court case over, officer nero's father is lashing attorney carolyn mosby's handling of the case. a higherre held to standard, which is fair, but they also have the right to be treated fairly. mosby did not do that. she rushed to judgment. protests erupted last year after gray died from injuries he sustained after dying in the back of the police van. the next trial of officers caesar goodson is in june, he faces second-degree depraved-heart murder charges. jonathan elias, abc 7 news. steve: a few scattered showers right now.

confederate flag as a mascot. i started feeling like the name needs to be changed. leon: the ultimate decision on changing the name rests with the school board. they are estimating that updating everything from uniforms to signage could cost nearly $700,000. alison: you can put your name on a national landmark. servicee national park says it is looking to revise policies of donors. the proposed policy would allow park could be renamed to think a donor for donations. this could be all around the country. alison: still ahead --7 on your side investigates the so-called pink tax. why are women paying more than men on virtually identical products?
