this morning on "world news now," there's a lot of back and forth in the race for the white house. hillary clinton mocks donald trump's business record as trump releases a video with some ugly accusations about bill clinton. and bernie sanders is hinting at division among the democrats at the convention. new efforts in the search for missing egyptair flight 804. investigators holding out hope that the plane's black boxes once found will reveal the cause of the crash and if terrorism played a role. >> and new this half hour, severe storms are giving an unseasonable look to some of the regions. >> heavy hail coming down in this pennsylvania town looking there like it's still winter and the spring storms across the country certainly not welcome especially when those funnel clouds loom. and jojo is back after getting her heart broken

jojo kicked offseason 12 of the bachelorette with 26 men vying for her heart. that count is already down to 20. our analyst here in "the skinny" on this tuesday, may 24th. >> announcer: from abc news, this is "world news now." >> good morning. i'm phillip mena. >> and i'm diane macedo. i think a lot of people are looking forward to that bachelorette" analysis. we'll have that coming up. first tensions rising among the democrats as the primary season kind of starts to wrap up >> bernie sanders is predicting that the democratic convention could be messy. sanders promised to condemn any form of violence but he said he's hoping to see a platform that reflects the needs of working families, the poor and the young > with hillary clinton expected to clinch the nomination in two weeks, she's now facing some of donald trump's nastiest attacks. we get the latest on that from abc's tom llamas. >> reporter: new polls show donald trump with momentum,

catching up to hillary clinton. the race now a dead heat. and that momentum not stopping trump from digging up former president bill clinton's past sex scandals. >> i was very nervous. >> reporter: even using the voice of monica lewinsky. the trump campaign posting this video with an image of clinton smoking a cigar and audio of other women who raised accusations about sexual misconduct against the former president. the trump video then ending with this. hillary clinton laughing, with the words "here we go again," the clinton campaign saying that type of tactic won't work with voters. and just last week, hillary said this when pressed about decades-old accusations against her husband resurfacing. >> do you ever feel compelled to defend your honor, the honor of your husband? >> no. >> with statements that he's making that go to the core of the relationship? >> no. not at all. i know that that's exactly what he is fishing for and, you know, i'm not going to be responding. >> reporter: in detroit, clinton

launching her own attack against trump describing him as an empty suit dangerous for america. >> he could bankrupt america like he's bankrupted his companies. i mean, ask yourself -- how can anybody lose money running a casino? really. >> reporter: and bill clinton putting the pressure on trump to release those tax returns. >> her opponent, who never tires of telling us how much richer he is than the rest of us, won't release his tax returns. >> tom llamas, abc news, new york. >> virginia governor terry mcauliffe is reportedly under federal investigation. the fbi apparently looking into donations to his gubernatorial campaign. an attorney from his campaign says the governor has not been told he's being investigated. it's not clear what specific donations are under scrutiny, and the justice department has declined to comment. >> the head of the veterans

comparing wait times at va hospitals to lines at disney world. bob mcdonald is charged with improving the agency after veterans experiences long wait times for appointments. some died before getting treatment. mcdonald says the wait times should not be used as a measure of success. >> days to an appointment is really not what we should be measuring. when you go to disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? what's important? what's important is what's your satisfaction with the experience. >> mcdonald also said wait times have improved but a report from the congressional watch daurks the gao says jets vets enrolling for the first time south carolina still wait months to be seen. overseas, president obama is spending another day in vietnam. he pushed for closer ties and pressed the government to improve human rights. last night the president enjoys a $6 dinner

>> also in asia, four people died on mt. everest. rescue efforts are also under way for two climbers missing since saturdaysed. two of those dead climbers died i've alert attack. one suffered a foughtal fall and the other died of altitude sickness. >> a french ship has joined search efforts for the black boxes from egyptair flight 804. six days after the plane went down, questions remain about the last moments of that doomed flight. abc's marci gonzalez has more on the search for answers. >> reporter: the u.s. navy flying day and night above the mediterranean sea find morgue wreckage believed to be from egyptair flight 804. while below this french sonar ship and an egyptian submarine scan the deep seafloor searching for pinks from the plane's black boxes. >> we will announce when we get close to them or identify where they are. >> reporter: the airbus's data transmission system indicated smoke on board moments before the plane dropped from radar.

black boxes to determine if that was caused by a mechanical failure or possibly a bomb. though some experts caution even if the flight data recorders are found, those details could remain a mystery. >> there's a concern if there was a total electrical fire some of that really valuable data that was supposed to be transmitted to the black boxes may have been cut off, as well. >> reporter: loved ones of the 66 people who were on board desperately waiting for answers, honoring the lives lost as this man reflexes on how close he came to being on that flight, changing his reservation just the day before. now calling himself the luckiest man in the world. meanwhile, the first remains found have been sent to cairo where dna testing is now under way. phillip and diane? >> marci, thank you. here in the u.s., severe weather slamming the central u.s. a tornado touched down in northern oklahoma last evening and

and it's beginning to look a lot like christmas again in central pennsylvania after a hailstorm south of harrisburg. the hail wasn't very big but there was a lot of it, and it came down fast covering roads and yards before finally melting. the hail also blocked storm sewers creating minor flooding. a hailstorm in billings, montana, had some residents scurrying for cover on two legs and four. check this out. that happened. >> ah. >> it is a pig. one resident watching from his porch exclaimed, holy cow, but realized look, it's not a cow. it's a pig. >> the little guy had escaped from its pen and then was frightened by the hail. he went to hide under a car. the damage in other parts of billings was so severe, first responders were using, we kid you not, ham radio to coordinate their efforts. >> cannot make that stuff up. >> how about that. >> ham radio. >> oh the poor little pig. i hope he es

it took almost two hours to free the driver of this truck fromity cab. the semi had hit the base of a large highway sign so hard, that the sign supports pushed into the cab. the driver had swerved to avoid a collision on the highway and then ran off the road. he's now being called a hero. luckily the oil tanker was empty at the time and no one else was injured. >> and this vehicle was a lot smaller but a golf cart actually caused a giant problem from one family vacationing in north carolina. >> it was a mother. she found herself behind bars after allowing her 11-year-old son to drive a golf cart. abc's ryan smith has the story. >> what is this guy doing? >> placing her under arrest is what he's doing. >> reporter: when julie mall was stopped by police on posh bald head island, she told "the charlotte observer" this was the last thing she expected. >> and then he pushes me down into the ground, puts his knee on my back. >> reporter: why?

her husband recording. the mother of two handcuffed and lauter jailed in leg irons. police charging her with resisting arrest and child abuse. the video raising new questions about the limits of police conduct during arrests. the idyllic island off the coast of north carolina, accessible only by boat, and the only way to get around? by golf cart. the arresting officer claiming the malls were intoxicated, uncooperative and obstinate. the charges eventually dropped, but for julie mall, the incident won't soon be forgotten. >> now i just have the memory of being shoved to the ground by some guy for reasons i can't even fathom. >> reporter: ryan smith, abc news, new york. this incident actually happened last july but the family is just now publicly talking about it. >> you know, the mother said that no question she was wrong. she knows you have to be 16 and have a license to drive the carts.

long-time fans of the show will realize. one guy, the canadian named daniel, this is the traditional drunk guy on the first night. >> oh, wow. >> he stripped down to his underwear. he jumped in the pool. everybody was like, what's this dude doing? somehow, he did a lot of flexing, all of that. >> don't tell me he survived the first date. >> he certainly did. we'll call this weirdo the producer's pick. somehow he got a rose. another guy who got a rose is jordan rodgers who is the younger brother of packers quarterback aaron rodgers. >> no mystery as to why, by the way. >> exactly. exactly. this guy's got good hair. he's a former pro football player. i don't think he took a snap that mattered in the nfl. if he did, i missed it. anyway, they had good chemistry all along. he got the only real kiss of the night. jordan rodgers gets the first impression rose. >> he looks a lot li

tears, this was his freestyle routine. it was a touching dedication to deafness and the fact that he is deaf. >> they danced to the "sounds of silence" and scored a perfect 30. he even got emotional toward the end as they were interviewing him after this performance. >> this was the most emotional part of the entire night. moving. really strong performance. then switching gears, slamming things into high gear, paige vanzant, a fireball in that sequinned dress with those insane dips and body wrap arounds and spins. >> len said she didn't move her hips enough. i didn't see it. i thought there was some serious hip action going on. >> those hips are definitely moving. she scored a near perfect 29. >> she nailed it with a perfect score for "over the rainbow," this elaborate choreography dedicated to the fact she overcame bullying as a kid. the whole thing brought people to tears also. in fact, her instructor there said he'
