the first look at the forecast. we go straight from winter to summer, no in between? exactly. last weekend we were stuck in the 50's. at the beach, 69 degrees in ocean city. theou decided not to go to beach this weekend, we got a taste of summer closer to d.c. in the district, 90 frederick in leesburg, 88 manassas, and most of us are dry. rainnly place we have right now is pennsylvania, a few showers popping up along the the blue ridge, but closer to the district, blue skies pretty much all day. 6:00,rees this evening at 80 at 8:00. it is a warm and wonderful evening. the rest of the weekend, we are talking about what is now tropical storm bonnie. the latest on that, where she is going, and what it

sunday and monday, memorial day, coming up. kimberly: more trouble for metro, at this hour, a fire shut down service near arlington national cemetery this afternoon. say that blues line service is suspended between rosslyn and pentagon city. reported a small fire near the train's wheels. services requested bus to transport stranded passengers. we will bring you the latest updates as soon as they are available. right now is the unofficial start of summer and it has some of us feeling the heat. live in northwest d.c., where fire crews responded to a group of people. they had some heat related emergencies today? yeah, absolutely, it all happened at sixth and ames street northwest. right where i'm standing is where the ambulance crews treated parade goers, trying to cool them down,

more than 30 people treated on site for heat-related emergencies after a parade. >> people started to feel the effects of the heat and humidity and they needed medical attention. amy: six people were taken to the hospital in noncritical conditions. to stay hydrated, which is something we always tell people when they come out of the heat. keep yourself safe. amy: he was marching in the parade. >> i'm from charleston, and it's still hot. >> it was fun, but also very exhausting. about 2000 people marched in the parade. based on the number of potential patients, we had additional ems units, including our

force. fire crews stress the importance of drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated before you come into the heat. live in northwest d.c., amy aubert, abc 7 news. are following a developing story from southeast. the police say that one man is in jail following a bizarre incident on i-295. after 6 a.m., a man and woman were driving on the road when the car came to a stop. the woman hopped out, then jumped off the pennsylvania avenue overpass. a good samaritan came by to help, then the male driver showed up, flashed a gun, and it went off. nobody was shot, but the boyfriend is accused of hitting the good samaritan with his car. both the good samaritan and woman were treated at the hospital. local family is demanding answers tonight after a tragedy struck during their dog's trip to a pet resort.

home, and the family says the other two who were returned are sick. richard reeve is following that story. richard: the family dropped off their three dogs back on may 19, at this dog facility. things have changed. one of those dogs is dead, the family trying to find out what happened here. now prince george's county police and animal control are investigating. philly are safe at home now. >> you would trust someone with your dogs who are loving, sweet, innocent. richard: cell phone video one week ago show something different. sasha appears reluctant to get up, soars on her face, even a broken tooth. >> a were injured, malnutrition. >>

philly is ok, but appears afraid and jumpy. one of her dogs was found dead. all of this happened after they dropped their pets off that axiom pet resort in clinton. >> i started crying. richard: for several days, they checked by phone on the dogs' status. on the 23rd she stopped by, found the dogs in rough shape and hugo was missing. >> we came back to check on them, two were injured and one was gone. richard: john fields, who identified himself as the manager said that hugo escaped after a worker left gate open. the worker has been fired and there was nothing malicious here, they say. >> for someone to actually physically hurt and animal is like hurting your own kid. we want answers. richard:

kimberly: metro officials say the blue line has real band after a small fire shut down service near arlington national cemetery this afternoon. metro officials say service was briefly shut down between rosslyn and pentagon city. crews put it out. one person was injured. that stretch of the blue line is back open. if you thought you had a tough time going to school in the snow, these kids scale a 2000-foot cliff to make it to class on time. a photographer shot this video of the sky rider the children use. the photographer noticed there are almost no safety railings anywhere. you should see robert. robert: my gosh. soda companyiconic wants you to know that they are proud to be american. coca-cola
