plus, the death toll rising in the midwest as floodwaters --hed over the hot land floodwaters washed over the heartland. the news starts now. >> abc 7 news at 11:00, on your side. kimberly: good evening, every body. i'm kimberly suiters. evening, but let's check in with meteorologist josh knight for the latest on the holiday forecast. josh: at least we had the nice weather today, but the next couple days, sunday into monday, a decent chance of rain, but the timing is pretty good. the temperatures right now, mid-70's, low 70's, still mild and relatively humid. for a lot of us, the rain does not move in until late tomorrow during the day.

yes, there were no trains, only bus service between here and rosslyn and the pentagon for a short time tonight as the service was stopped at the arlington cemetery location. another incident on metro as riders get set for big changes next week. a shot from the tower camera on top of the building that houses showsand news channel 8 the blue line shut down at the arlington cemetery stop, a train on fire. like the world was coming apart. d.c., in frome to wisconsin, hoping to rely on metro. >> there were firetrucks and rescue units. there were no injuries related to the fire, but it did

roz: they simply jumped in to help, and now one of the good samaritans is facing serious injuries just from trying to save a woman's life. a bizarre domestic violence and i began at 6:30 a.m. d.c. police a it was just off the northbound tonight if i've overpass onto pennsylvania avenue after an altercation with her boyfriend. whoe good samaritans happened by thought it was an attempted suicide and rush to help. her,e they could get to the boyfriend intervened. >> she was trying to get into the car. roz: the boyfriend pulled out a gun. he told the good samaritans to get away from his girl. tookf the good samaritans the gun, struck the boyfriend in the head with it, and it fired a single round. nobody was injured.

police, but before officers arrived, the boyfriend circled back. >> he struck one of their friends with the car. the the police arrested boyfriend, the preliminary charge assault with a dangerous weapon. both the woman in the good samaritan who were struck by the car were taken to the hospital. the latest information we have is the good samaritan has serious injuries but is expected to recover. kimberly: paramedics had to treat more than two dozen people for heat related issues this afternoon. six people were taken to the hospital for more medical attention, all of this after the united house of prayer annual parade inay northeast d.c. an estimated 2000 people took heart in the parade. happening now, the death toll is climbing following heavy rain in the southern plains. four

another four missing. 11-year-old boy was swept away by swollen creek in kansas. a similar search is underway for a boy in fort worth. evacuation orders are in place houston, hits near with record flooding just a few weeks ago. a maryland family demanding answers after one of their dogs died at a pet resort. prince george's county police and animal control are investigating what happened after this person dropped all three dogs at axiom that -- pet resort in clinton. one of the dogs never came home. the other two were injured and afraid. >> for somebody to hurt an animal, it's like hurting your kid. we want answers. kimberly: ax

rain in south carolina is tropical storm bonnie, the moisture making it wet in south carolina. earlye have tonight and tomorrow is just cloud, but a lot of this moisture heads our w ay. the storm itself does not. tropical storm bonnie, 45 miles peralta, barely tropical storm category. monday, still spinning down here, between north carolina and south carolina. down here, but throwing moisture towards us. 7:30 a.m., the clouds building in, but most of the day looks dry. just spotty showers the first part of the day. that is whening, we bring in rain and thunderstorms. that is when we are really watching, towards the end of the nats game as folks are heading out for the big concert. that is when we had the best chance of rain. the heaviest is overnight,

quickly, but a cold front pushes our way and we fire up more showers and thunderstorms pushing across later in the day. most of that is monday afternoon -- most of monday afternoon looking good. , late in the game, that is when we are looking for the chance of showers and storms. the parade on monday, i think we get a break from the rain. in the evening is when the cold front gives us a chance of more storms. the second half of the day sunday and the first half of the day monday, that is when you are most likely to see the rain. into tuesday, just a few isolated thunderstorms. wednesday, thursday, friday looking dry and a chance of thunderstorms next week. kimberly: such a shame. josh: we don't get a lot of breaks, but with a heaviest rain overnight, that is the best we can ask for. kimberly: silver lining in the sports
