roz plater is live in southeast with the crime alert area it sounds like a lot of families were around when this happened. roz: they were indeed because of the holiday. right now, they are still looking for a suspect in all of this, and even though they have taken down the crime scene tape, there is still a number of police officers on the scene. the police confirmed the victim is a teenaged girl, and all of this happened during the holiday with lots of family and children nearby. aboutsays it happened at 7:40 p.m. a young woman approached a metro transit police officer at the anacostia station saying she was shot in the leg by an unknown male. >> it's like every day you expect something to happen. >> summer has not even started yet, and there are a bunch of kids and family using this to get home

destination. to see something like this is kind of tragic. roz: it appears to have happened somewhere near the entrance gate. that area was roped off with multiple police officers on the scene investigating. we even spotted officers checking surveillance video from a metro bus. it is the latest shooting at a metro station, and passenger say it is happening way too often. >> i think the violence needs to stop. >> you need to know, is this going to be my last day when i get on the metro or what? roz: the police have not released suspect information. the teenage girl who was taken to the hospital has a non-life-threatening injury. live in southeast d.c., roz plater, abc 7 news. kimberly: a d.c. police officer shot and wounded a suspect early this morning on the 300 block of h street northwest.

after the presumptive republican nominee for first accepting and then declining a debate. think thaters: i answered who donald trump is. making the american people should be very concerned about some of the changing their mind on virtually any issue he has been asked about. kimberly: sanders is campaigning hard in california ahead of the june 7 primary. hillary clinton is expected to clinch the nomination with a win in the new jersey primary. the libertarian party has nominated gary johnson for president. formerty also selected massachusetts governor bill weld as his running mate. both are former republicans, each elected two times. they will be included in this fall's debate if poll numbers reach 15%. they are currently polling at 10%.

terror tonight, iraqi troops in the midst of a military operation to retake falluja. video showed troops and militia pounding isis targets. officials say that forces have taken over much of the territory in the area. the city has been owned the control of isis for more than two years now. one of the owners of a maryland pet resort is talking about what happened to a family's three dogs. last night we told you about the three dogs who appeared to be of them,nd sick ,two and one of them was hit and killed by a car. the owner of the pet resort said he fired an employee for leaving a kennel door open. >> all i can really say is how devastated we are. i can only imagine if this was my dog. obviously i would be gutted and really, really upset. it is

a lot of moisture in our direction. ,e are sandwiched in between and showers stick around with a chance of heavy rain. a flash flood warning until 12:30 for parts of st. mary's county and calvert county. the bulk of the heavy rain pushing closer to baltimore. overnight, a lot of this rain is going to fizzle out. into earlier tomorrow morning, the moisture from what is left over from bonnie hangs around over to the east. the only issue was the cold front we were talking about starts to had our way, allows more showers to fire up. there will be dry times tomorrow, not a total washout, but we are looking for rain in the morning and more the evening. tuesday, the front is just close enough that we hang on to spotty thunderstorms. the farther west that you live, not dealing with too much moisture. frontjust when the cold gets here.
