turn out to be good news for one of the show's most beloved characters. the full story ahead in "the skinny." it is friday, june 3rd. >> announcer: from abc news, this is "world news now." >> friday. >> everybody's working for the weekend. >> happy friday. >> we are there. great to be here with you on this friday, everybody. >> that's right. a good morning to you all. i'm diane macedo. >> i'm kendis gibson. it was an ugly scene on the west coast. >> that's right. some anti-trump protesters, they erupted in violence in san jose. >> angry is right. they attacked trump supporters as they left a rally last night, chasing them down and beating them up. by the time it was over, some people were bleeding and others were behind bars. abc's tom llamas is there. >> reporter: for at least 45 minutes tonight, there was complete chaos in downtown san jose as the trump rally was ending, skirmishes between proet protesters and trump supporters took place right in the street.

we saw several fights. mobs of protesters started beating up trump supporters as they were exiting the rally. we saw people getting punched in the face, couples getting harassed walking out. at one point protesters stormed a garage and started hitting cars as they were trying to leave the convention center. the police were here on hand the entire time. but they never seemed to intervene as people were getting beaten up. it seems like they were trying to hold the perimeter. this has by far been one of the worst clashes between trump protesters and supporters since the campaign has begun. tom llamas, abc news, san jose. >> our thanks to tom in california. inside the rally, donald trump railed against hillary clinton over her e-mail controversy saying she has to go to jail. trump also slammed the foreign policy speech that clinton made earlier as pathetic and sad in his words. he said it was a political speech and had nothing to do with foreign policy. >> hillary clinton minced no words in that speech that trump was referring to there coming out guns blazing. she said

a historic mistake, calling him unprepared and temperamentally unfit. clinton warned that trump would lead the country toward war and economic crisis and she ran down a list of people he had insulted, including the pope. she also mocked his twitter rants and called him thin skinned. >> it does appear donald trump has finally receive aid much coveted endorsement from house speaker paul ryan. ryan announced through his hometown newspaper in wisconsin that he will vote for trump. after withholding his support for weeks, ryan said trump can help house republicans enact their election year policy agenda. he said he made his decision after a series of meetings and conversations with donald trump. >> and i just wanted to have a good comfort level that these policies, these principles and policies are something that we would be able to work with him on. >> ryan said his goal is to unify the republican party and win the election. in response, trump tweeted they will be both working hard to make america great again. >>

army's fort hood in texas is being blamed on the flooding rains that are pounding that state. the search continues for four soldiers missing after their truck overturned in a rain swollen creek. the death toll from the incident is up to at least five troops. three soldiers were rescued and hospitalized. more than half of texas remains under flood watches and warnings. the worst part is more rain will continue through tomorrow. and there have been hundreds of water rescues across texas during the flooding emergency. you can see a man in a raft being pulled to safety by rescuers. he told police a wall of water swept his vehicle right off the road. he was found on top of his car. more rescues are likely with up to 10 inches of rain expected in some areas. >> there is another military tragedy to tell you about. it's under investigation this morning. the fatal blue angels crash near nashville. captain jeff kuss was taking off for an afternoon practice session when he crashed. the blue angels were

great tennessee air show. the show will go on but the blue angels will not perform. the 32-year-old is a colorado native and he had more than 1400 flight hours. he joined the blue angels two years ago. at about the same time yesterday, there was a crash in colorado involving a member of the u.s. air force thunderbirds. that crash just moments after a flyover for the air force academy graduation. major alex turner ejected from the plane parachuting to safety. officials say he suffered no serious injuries and is in good condition. president obama was at the graduation and asked to meet with major alex turner after the crash, thanking him for his service. it's unclear what caused that crash which left a trail in the field outside colorado springs. it's official the midwest medical examiner says prince died of an accidental overdoes of fentanyl, a powerful opioid that's being blamed for a recent surge in drug related

although prince was known for his clean livings, he had started to take pain medication to ease pain in his hips and knees. tolerance and look for stronger drugs without realizing how dangerous they can be. federal health officials described the drug as 80 to 100 times stronger than morphine. and 25 to 40 times more potent than heroin. in florida, the former police officer charged with the fatal shooting of a musician has posted bail. nouman raja made his first court appearance for manslaughter and attempted murder charges on thursday. he is expected to remain behind bars until later today after posting a $250,000 bond. corey jones was on the side of the road after his car broke down. prosecutors say raja never identified himself before shooting jones. and the man accused of shooting and wounding two northern california police officers during a traffic stop was found dead inside the home where he later barricaded himself. that home in the city of

had caught fire after police fired tear gas inside trying to force the man out. one officer is in critical condition, the other listed as the stable. >> a 7-year-old boy missing in a japanese forest for nearly a week has been found unharmed. his parents say they made him get out of the car as punishment for throwing rocks at people and then they drove away. when they came back a few minutes later, had he vanished. he turned up in an army training hut, a little dehydrated and scratched but okay. >> back here in the states in game one of the nba finals, it is in the books and advantage warriors. the defending champs golden state showing their strength in numbers against the cavaliers. >> the warriors took last night's game by a score of 104-89. abc's t.j. holmes was there. >> guys, coming into the finals it was all about the splash brothers, you know, klay thompson, step curry. they've been you the putting on a show the entire playoffs. they did not make too much of a splash in this game, if you will. going into the fourth quarter, midway through the fourth quarter, both guys cur a

but their team was up by double digits. the bench showed up in a major way for the warriors and essentially won this game for them and won easily. on the other side, the cleveland cavaliers i'm not sure how they're going to be feeling when they get up tomorrow. this was a bruising game, it was very physical. lebron put on his typical show and scored his big points but didn't get a lot of support from some of the other big famous on his team. they've got regrouping to do. could never get this thing under control. but the celebration is dying down a little bit as i talk to you here now, but this place was rocking. i couldn't even talk to my producer who was sitting right next to me, it was so loud in here during this game. if this is any indication of what we'll see in the future, this is going to be a fantastic finals. back to you guys. >> i bet it's really hard to have a conversation when you're in front row seats, t.j. it must be really tough. >> tough assignment for him. >> it was a fun game. it was a fun night. unless you're a cleveland cavaliers fan this morning.
