kimberly: erin wants to know exactly what is going to rain this week. josh: fortunately, not tomorrow. we finish out the weekend dry. later in the week, the better chance. in mind that it will be a little windy sunday, in the 90's, still hot. the seven day forecast, dry monday, another great day. tuesday and wednesday, spotty thunderstorms. a better chance thursday and into friday. looking forward to next weekend, planning in advance, it looks really nice, lots of sunshine, low 80's. the sunshine settles in. kimberly:

covering metro ghost towns, band and construction sites at east falls church and vienna metro stations, sitting empty for months. sam sweeney went to metro for answers. ds strangle the barricade fence outside of the construction site. stand still, and nobody ever seems to be working here. it is the same situation at the vienna metro station, another unfinished, halted construction site. >> this construction site has been going on since last year, and it's ultimately stupid. sam: this person rides metro daily. this is not first time she has wondered what's going on here. >> they could build the whole building in the time that it has taken to do this. sam: last spring, metro ripped up this site. some of it has been finished, promisedarea, metro's

are coming to the stained glass windows at the national cathedral. representations of the confederate flag will be removed. work is supposed to start by the end of this summer. the changes come nearly a year after south carolina's governor order the confederate flag removed from the statehouse triggered by deadly shooting at a black church in south carolina by a white suspect known for embracing the image. once the glasses removed, it will be the centerpiece of a national conversation about racism in the church. meantime, we now know the entity of a man shot by officers yesterday at dallas airport. 29-year-old sean diamond is accused of assaulting his former girlfriend and vandalizing her car outside of the terminal. the dramatic scene unfolded outside of the airport. released surveillance video shows sean diamond's ex-girlfriend dropping him off at the airport. she appears to toss his close on the streets. traffic cone and starts breaking her windows. diamond was fresh out of jail. he drove from maryland tuesday to confront his ex, intentionally crashing into several trees. at the airport, an officer intervened, drawing his gun. a second pulled his taser. diamond charged them both with rocks in his hands, prompting the officers to fire. >> get down, get down! [gunfire] reporter: ignoring the officers warnings, diamond runs at them again. >> witnesses reported that the suspect came at the officers and said you will have to shoot me. reporter: the

in front of a crowded airport. within minutes, cell phone video appeared online. investigators are still looking at the use of deadly force, but they say the video tells much of the story. >> the tactics they used were quite appropriate. kimberly: the officer who shot diamond is on paid administrative leave. diamond is hospitalized in stable condition. josh: coming up, we will time out the thunderstorms for the week. the forecast coming up.

kimberly: taking flight, liberty, one of the two eaglets, flew from his nest tree at the arboretum this morning. his father was not far behind. and the whole thing was caught on tape. cheryl: these babies were born to fly. first, freedom flu sunday, liberty joined their sibling this morning. >> i'm confident they can hold it when it is time for them to leave the nest. cheryl

story of seeing the eagle. >> standing in the median, i was blown away. just proudly, like a little man. cheryl: we have enjoyed the journey on the eagle cam, hatching back in february, four days apart. then they were given patriotic names. and now we watch them prepare to leave the nest. visitors to the national arboretum can walk up to a certain point. a fence holds them back several hundred feet from the tree that holds the nest. the nest is about 100 feet in the air. the parents have been delivering food like fish from the anacostia river. freedom returned after a few days, but liberty is still, well, enjoying the freedom. they wereber when endangered, and to see them come back is exciting. eryl: the females are

few times overnight. if you have the windows open, hopefully you have a nice fan going. just a few clouds in maryland, that is about it. otherwise, we have dodged the rain today. there was a 30% chance of rain today, and we were expecting more firing off in pennsylvania and it.com together. we had the humidity and the daytime heating, but not enough lift in the atmosphere. good news is we stay dry for all the events today comes just a few isolated showers near hagerstown, martinsburg, but that was about it. now that we have gone through dayhottest and most muggy today, the cold front drops through. before it gets here, we have plenty of heat building in. we are still back in the 90's. the differences, it will be windier tomorrow and also not quite as humid. those two things i think will make it feel bet

we are looking at very warm temperatures. overnight lows, a few places in the upper 60's. most of us are in the mid, upper 70's. tomorrow's highs, not quite as warm. further north and west, hancock 84, 83 hagerstown, 86 charles town. towards ashburn, close to 90 degrees. around the sea, many of us will be in the 90's -- around d.c. pasadena 90, 87 annapolis, 88 bowie. along moste hall, 92 of interstate 95 further south. mid 80's for the shenandoah valley. 92 culpeper. heat returns, but not quite as muggy. for the pride festival tomorrow, inn until 4:00, we peraak the 90's, but less muggy

followers and not too much. the temperatures are very warm for us around the metro. 79 herndon, falls church as well. 77 further south in springfield. the big take away tonight, it is not like july heat and humidity, but it is still going to be muggy through the overnight hours. we are tracking not a lot going on in the surrounding metro, the satellite and radar. we have to zoom out wider to find anything, and it's just extra cloud cover. the only showers today really cross through, just hanging around pennsylvania, the panhandle of west virginia, and just off to the west, hagerstown. otherwise, cloud cover, and we dodged the rain today. tomorrow, you will see a bit more cloud cover popping up. the other thing is the wind bars. the streamlines show where the wind is coming from.
