this morning the sad reality sinking in for a family from nebraska. their little boy snatched by an alligator while on vacation at disney world. >> we know his name is lane graves and his body was found underwater nearly 18 hours after he was dragged away. >> earlier this morning guests at a wedding spotted this gator in that same lagoon though it's not clear whether it's the same one that attacked the toddler. abc's gio benitez has the latest from orlando. >> reporter: officials making the heartbreaking announcement after more than 16 hours of searching by dive teams and choppers flying overhead, crews finally finding the body of 2-year-old lane graves. >> there's likely no question in my mind that the child was drowned by the alligator. >> reporter: the little boy's body found intact not far from where he had been dragged into the water by that alligator. just across from disney's magic kingdom the graves family of four from nebraska, three days into their vacation enjoying the sandy beach, the 2-year-old about a foot off t

nobody comes here and does something like that i this city and just gets away it. >> reporter: adrienne bankert, abc news, new york. >> and the senate in the meantime, is looking into a series of explosive facebook posts made by the killer the day of the shooting. he railed against what he called the filthy ways of the west and warned of attacks in the u.s. in the next few days. the senate homeland security committee sent a letter to facebook's ceo mark zuckerberg. they're requesting information and a briefing on the gunman's online activity. on capitol hill overnight a filibuster sparked by the orlando shooting came to an end after nearly 15 hours. senator chris murphy from connecticut led democrats in the marathon session to force a vote on gun control. murphy said it was unconscionable that congress has done nothing to change the gun laws since the newtown school massacre and left the floor only after getting assurances from top lawmakers. we have been given a commitment to get votes on the floor of

to assure that those on the terrorist watch list do not get guns. >> reporter: before yielding the floor murphy talked about one of the children killed at sandy hook. he said to ask yourselves, what can you do to make sure orlando or newtown never happen again? meanwhile, donald trump has requested air meeting with the and a half rifle association to discuss those gun laws. trump now says people on the terror watch list should be banned from purchasing firearms. he also said the death toll in orlando would have been smaller if clubgoers had guns. trump then moved on to immigration renewing his call for a temporary ban on muslims from immigrant countries with ties to terrorism. >> we have to stop on a temporary basis at least but we have to stop people from pour nothing our country. we have to stop it. until we find out what the

>> reporter: on the gun issue the nra said it would be happy to meet with trump then reiterated its position. anyone on a watch list who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated and the sale delayed while that investigation is ongoing. hillary clinton responded to rump's statement on guns by saying welcome to the cause. clinton had been hammering the same idea since the orlando massacre. she said trump was essentially forced into category legislation to prevent people on the terrorist watch list from buying guns. and she pointed out that trump and the orlando shooter had something in common. >> he was born in queens, new york, only miles away from where donald trump himself was born. a ban on muslims would not have stopped this attack. neither would a wall. i don't know how one builds a wall to keep the internet out. >> well, clinton called trump's ideas reckless
