jummy: ok, i mean, thank you. one person is dead after a deadly crash in mongering county. closedh road is still after the accident and police are trying to figure out if there is any connection to a second crash moments later at new hampshire avenue. john gonzalez is live on the scene with the very latest. john: we have to be very careful and delegate with what we show you at this hour. we understand the coroner's and i havearrived the body parts at the accident scene. 2 accidents, 2 speeding vehicles, we understand. the accidents almost simultaneous. a man is dead half a mile up the road on randolph road. the plot thickens. just before 7:00 this morning a driver on randolph road in colesville going at a very high rate of speed loses control. the car goes off the

the driver killed instantly. the car flipped over in someone's front yard. just totally destroyed. well, just one minute later, and in the second of randolph and new hampshire avenue, this, an suv with 4 young men inside slammed into a utility pole. >> he came in turn to the right. john: never slowed down? >> never slow down. john: how fast? >> 60 miles. john: the driver of the suv and this passenger are in custody and facing possible drug charges. >> he came close to me and i was -- i don't know what he had. i don't want to talk to him. john: the accidents were minutes apart and half a mile from each other. at this hour police are still working toon

>> the driver remained on the scene to 3 occupants fled from the vehicle. so at this hour, still 2 men on the run. as you can see, the eastbound lanes of randolph road remain closed. that is going to be the case for at least another hour or two, if not longer. police saying that they hope to reopen everything by the evening rush hour. right now the priority is trying to figure out if these accidents are connected, we the people involved are, and finding those 2 men. jummy: wow, ok, thank you. we want to get to angela foster, who joins us with our traffic watch. what kind of impact is this having on the roadways? of course, the closure is impacting the roadways even on the mid dave reichert we have so many backups not only on randolph road but new hampshire avenue.
