also tonight, more details about the gunman's checkered past. an administrator at omar mateen's high school confirming to abc news mateen was suspended for celebrating the 9/11 terror attacks. one of mateen's former classmates witnessed his outburst. >> when they collapsed he stood up and was like "osama bin laden is my uncle. what the blank you gonna do about it?" >> reporter: also tonight, authorities still investigating whether mateen's wife noor salman, last seen the day after the attack, knew anything about her husband's plans. now, one of salman's former teachers telling abc news salman had learning difficulties. in an exclusive interview, susan, who asked us not to use her last name or show her face, saying she was in all special-education classes. >> noor had difficulty with retention. she had difficulty with conceptualizing, >> i thought she is incapable of being an accomplice absolutely incapable. >> reporter: salman's family confirming susan was noor's

rape. brandon vandenberg was found guilty on all eight counts. prosecutors say he encouraged three team members to assault an unconscious woman he had been dating, videotaping it off. and the woman who thought she not something in her house wasn't ride. a dozen girls under 21 years old living with a 50-year-old man. and he allegedly fathered two of the girls. here is the report tonight. >> reporter: on this quiet street in bucks county, pennsylvania, jen betz said she knew "something wasn't right" at the home of 51-year-old lee kaplan. >> i knew it. that's what i'm going through. i saw these little girls, their face. i saw them often enough. i knew they were crying for help.

>> reporter: calling a child abuse hotline to report her suspicions about the home, where she saw several girls, all in blue dresses. police scouring the property, where they say 12 girls ranging from 6 months to 18 years old lived with kaplan. the 18 year old telling police kaplan fathered her two children. he now faces charges including statutory sexual assault. her parents, who arranged for their then-14 year old daughter to live with kaplan, charged with endangering the welfare of a child. they claim the other nine girls found in the home are also their daughters. jen betz says she called the child abuse line once before a few years ago. i've been looking at them for years, watching, going by that house and i feel like i could have done more. >> reporter: her neighbors, thankful tonight she picked up the phone again. >> jen is basically a hero. jen took it upon herself to take the initiative and make the call. >> they are away from a potential serious predator. at the end of the day they are nowhere near him.
