powerful storms and a ping-pong ball sized hail. foron: lightning was blamed this destructive scene and aspen hill, the chimney obliterated after a lightning strike. the home, the rest of was spared any major damage and nobody was hurt. hour,the question at this are we out of the woods now? steve rudin, are we? steve: we are, and things will improve overnight. this from the national weather service, a confirmed tornado over howard county, ef-0. not a strong tornado, the wind near 80 miles per hour, miles over 285 minutes. no significant damage reported. that was earlier this afternoon. we were on air with abc 7 covering the storms as they happen.

the neighborhood for hours. with chemicals and foam from the airport had to be brought in to put out the fire. alison: a nightmare came to life early this morning when somebody broke a window and try to grab a little boy who was asleep in his bed. the child screamed, scaring the man away. tim barber spoke with the boy's father. the window was unlocked, right? was.it this is the window right here. the boy was sleeping just beyond the window. the parents told me they did not realize it was unlocked last night. theght it is locked because person who tried to abduct their seven-year-old son is still on the loose. >> a child waking up out of their sleep. tim: tonight, fingerprint dust coats the window frame. >> i cannot imagine living without my son.
