dear, the mother of john he said the sentence is not at all justice for her son. he was shot and killed by a former fairfax out of best officer adam torres in springfield in august of 2013. he was unarmed and had his arms hanging in the doorway at the time the shot was fired. on the eve of the trial attorneys reached a deal for a guilty plea of involuntary manslaughter and a 12 month jail sentence. >> one year in jail? insulting. it was murder. it was not involuntary manslaughter. >> i think he is doing well. he made a decision that was very difficult for he and his family. i think he is comfortable with that. during the hearing we did not hear from

at noon, on your side. fire crews in california continue to fight this wildfire that is our destroyed 80 homes and threatening 1500 others in the california mountains. the flames consumed 20 other buildings around lake isabella. local forecasters say low humidity and 55 miles per hour winds could make the fire worse. taking the fight against opioid epidemics to new heights. a fundraiser is being held today and participants are raising awareness by rappelling off buildings in the district. sam sweeney was one of them and it all happened live this morning on good morning washington. reporter: i'm going to do this. guys, this is all to raise awareness about addiction. the first step to fighting addiction they say -- oh my gosh.
