mocked her claims that she's of native american descent. >> did you ever hear of pocahontas? >> reporter: trump tweeted she lied on heritage. the attacks may be causing a trump slump. a new abc poll shows clinton has a double digit lead. 64% of voters say trump is unqualified to be president, and many think he's bias against muslims, women and minorities. trump called the poll dirty and disgrace. clinton was also suffering the favorable in the polls. there was a rare moment of reflection acknowledging many voters don't trust clinton. >> i don't like hearing it. and i've thought a lot about what's behind it. i've made mistakes. i don't know anyone who hasn't. i understand people having questions. >> reporter: clinton is on the trail today with campaign stops in denver and l.a. >> kenneth, thank you.

a virginia man is in custody for threatening several senators. one was a republican from missouri. the suspect, a man named kyler george schmitz was arrested friday. he allegedly communicated on twitter with another user about purchasing a gun, but was unsuccessful. >> this morning a grim assessment of damage as west virginia recovers from flooding. thousands of homes and businesses are damaged or destroyed and at least 23 people have been killed. hundreds of residents are living in emergency shelters across the state. there's no running water or electricity in many hard hit areas. there is a bit of good news. two campers who were missing and presumed dead were found alive. hundreds of volunteers are providing hot meals and clothing. members of a football team pitched in to collect supplies. there's a woman who wanted to help, expressing the frustration of many. >> you want to do something, but it's sad because you can't do

there's just nothing you can do. except tell people where there's help. >> charity officials say they need bottled water, cleaning supplies, and cash. >> there was heart break in central california as well as residents returned to their fire ravaged neighborhood to find they had nothing left. the fire in kern county is largely contained. the recovery is just beginning. >> reporter: at least 250 structures have been destroyed in the fire. you can see one behind me. because progress is being made on the fire lines slowly, some people are allowed back in their homes. for the residents in this area, it's still too dangerous. we spoke with one person who saw the devastation for the first time. so many of your neighbors lost their homes. how did that make you feel? >> sad. especially when there was lives lost. >> reporter: yeah. >> and there were.
