mall on the 4th. that is on wjla.com. leon? leon: there was no shortage of concern this morning. for 90 minutes fear this morning after someone reported seeing a gunman at joint base andrews. >> the messages that were coming through on my phone were this is not a drill. this is real. if you are on base, shelter in place. if you are trying to get on base, turn around and leave immediately. leon: that call triggered an immediate response as the police swarmed the area, searching for a gunman. but it all turned out to be a false alarm. blamed in part on simple miscommunication. tonight many are questioning how a mistake could happen? in fact at the base that is very home of air force one. our chief political correspondent scott thuman explains how the top echelon of the federal government are responding. scott: with hands in the air people are ushered out of buildings at joint base andrews over fear of active shooter. at the same time
