making news in america this morning, on this fourth of july, stepped up security on independence day. major city taking no chances ahead of big public celebrations. several attacks overseas increasing concerns here in the u.s. one of those attacks, a suicide bombing in iraq. isis claiming responsibility for the blast that killed more than 140 people. hillary clinton and donald trump facing separate challenges on this july 4th. she's hoping to put her e-mail controversy behind her while he deals with the fallout from yet another controversial tweet. the algae mess that's ruined the holiday for many along the south florida coast. smelly, toxic and not going away fast enough.

city's famous landmarks including times square. in our nation's capital's officers checking bags at the annual fireworks display and parade as the national archives celebrates the 240th anniversary of the declaration of independence. meantime, fears sparked sunday at new york city's central park. >> i have no idea what it was. it sounded like a cannon. >> 18-year-old connor golden was injured after stepping on an explosive. police believe it may have been there for some time and have ruled out any ties to terror. law enforcement is also monitoring radical islamist and terrorist iic threats as ramada ends tuesday. >> be cognizant of possibly wearing explosives. >> reporter: the empire state building will be lit up red, white and blue, patriotism

u.s. it happened early this morning when a car bomb was detonated near the u.s. consulate in jeddah, the second largest city in the country. two security guards were injured but the suicide bomber was the only reported fatality. and breaking news from egypt where a search vessel recovered bodies from egyptair flight 804. they're on their way to egypt for forensic examination. it crashed in may. the cause remains unknown but flight data recorders showed signs of smoke as well as intense heat. the fbi investigation into hillary clinton's use of a private e-mail server is nearing an end after she was interviewed by the agency for more than three hours. clinton saying she was pleased to assist the department after a meeting though between former president bill clinton and attorney general loretta lynch sparked outrage, lynch said she would accept whatever recommendations the fbi and prosecutors

no trading on wall street today because of the holiday. later we'll get what analysts say is a good barometer of how consumers are feeling. pepsico issues its new earnings report said to be a solid indicator of sentiment because of their global reach. the company has increased its full year forecast at this time of year for the past two years. unclear if it will do so again. uber is joining the effort to keep drunk drivers off the roads on this fourth of july weekend. the ride sharing service teamed up with nevada's public safety department to offer discounted rides of up to $15 for the holiday. the deal is just for new customers. $5 from each ride will be donated to mothers against drunk driving. make way for new ray-bans in time for summer. the new wayfarriors have an old school feel with a look sil

- new information about a deadly shooting in the district. d-c police now say there is only one victim. originally, they believed it was a double shooting. it happened around just before eleven last night on "v street" northeast, just a few blocks from the rhode island metro station. one man was killed. no information right now about a possible suspect. and developing now - a suspicious death in loudoun county. the sheriff's office says they were called to a home on cardinal glen circle in sterling friday morning. when the arrived, they found a woman's body in the garage of her home which was under renovation. we still don't know why police went to
