and this is happening while the nation is mourning five murdered police officers. dallasonzales is live in with the latest on the investigation, as well as what comes next. marci? marci: yeah, good evening. outside of police headquarters, the crowd is gathering, leaving flowers, cards, handwritten notes on the squad cars. moving images capturing the sadness shared by so many. mourning those five brave officers killed in the chaos unleashed in dallas thursday night. >> my son died because of this. for whatever reason, there was no reason, because it had nothing to do with him. marci: referring to the killer, micah johnson, who

killing of blackman by the police, and he said up to specifically murder what police officer. obama: the man who carried these attacks out is no more representative of african-americans than the shooter in charleston was representative of white americans. marci: president obama addressing the horror in dallas and the police involved newtings in minnesota and orleans, inspiring protests across the country. quiet gestures of unity and gratitude. you just saw all of those people lined up, hugging police officers. of the seven officers injured, we learned at least two are now home from the hospital. gonzalez,llas, marci abc news.

about the man killed in a traffic stop in minnesota thursday. philando castile oh had been pulled over at least 52 times in recent years. some people are speculating that his race may have played a role. reasons range from not wearing a seat out to speeding or improper equipment. and still no information from police in the shooting death of alton sterling in baton rouge. overnight, there were several protest with 30 people arrested after tense confrontations. and those two shootings plus the attack in dallas are showing the divide in some communities between the police and the communities they serve. in southeast d.c., some are openly stating they can control crime better with no police at all. ryan hughes joins us from the lincoln memorial, were a separate group is preparing to march and call for change. ryan

kellye, church for actionl call after a violent week. hundreds are expected to meet on the steps of the lincoln memorial. as you mentioned, earlier today we met up with a local group calling out the police after the recent shootings, saying officers are not helping control the violence, they are only making it worse. withhave no desire to work or for the police. ryan: the message is stronger than ever. matter d.c. fearing a breaking point after the killings this week. >> they incite more violence, anxiety, fear. ryan: april is the founder of ofp d.c. for me, a branch the local black lives matter movement determined to stop police brutality. gather today at the anacostia library and southeast d.c. or

, that story at 11:00. and d.c. police are looking for two men on surveillance video robbing a neighborhood market on the 2000 block of rhode island avenue northeast. the man with the gun and these the register, the other man appears to be the lookout. nobody was hurt in the robberies. the police are looking for the killer of a 52-year-old woman in landover hills. investigators say the woman was found inside of her home on 71st street last night. the police are not saying how she died, but it is a homicide investigation. to $25,000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest. and coming up at 6:00 -- a message from a woman who led a march through d.c. without her shirt. and the extra incentive to check lottery tickets after the mega millions drawing. plus, the history made at wimbledon.
