water near the roosevelt bridge. earlier in the evening, d.c. fire and ems tweeting out car into the potomac. rock creek parkway, one occupant others as many as two inside the car now in the water, divers headed in. police trucks, ambulances, fire trucks, everybody lined up. this has been the scene since we got here about 20 minutes, maybe a half hour ago at this point, a very active scene. if we can actually pan over this way one more time to the water, you can see the boat docked up against the bridge. as i was telling you earlier, kellye, we saw at least five boats on the water through the again, and tonight, developing scene, very active, and we will continue to work to get you guys the latest as this comes in,

saying, very active scene, doing their best on the water. back to you, kellye. kellye: thank you, amy. the tragedy in dallas, police departments were told to prepare for the type of ambush attack that occurred thursday night. joce: in the nation's capital, the response means doubled up on patrols, adding police gun is all department across the country can really do, including washington, where police chief cathy lanier said her officers are forging on. in dallas telling negotiators he specifically wanted to kill police officers. chief lanier: we have to carry on. we cannot let this detract from army should every day. joce: departments across the country are looking to protect and prepare officers for ambush attacks, growing concern. >>

kellye: a child custody battle in virginia has taken a controversial turn. a judge in loudoun county has banned a 10-year-old girl from play competitive golf for the next year. tj holmes explains what. the 10-year-old was ordered by a judge to stay away from golf tournaments for the next year, that decision part of an ongoing custody battle between the parents that has lasted seven years come at a time when she says her career and talent are flourishing. >> it just happens to be that she has won 23 of 33 tournaments in the last few years. t.j.:

plastic clubs when she was three and she has developed into a promising young prospect. level,ar as her skill she is in the top 10% in the nation. she is ready to obtain a scholarship to college, and here she is only 10 years old. but the custody order says among other things like who she spends holidays with that she shall not be permitted to play competitive golf for one year and is not allowed to take lessons with any golf pro. her mother has sole legal and physical custody of the child. the latest order does not lay out why she can compete. >> i think the judge thought that she was playing 5, 6 hours per day, which is false. t.j.: he is appealing the decision, hoping that his daughter does not have to take a year off from competitive

breaking news, a car in the river near the roosevelt bridge. amy aubert got some new information. amy? that's right, you saw the picture a couple minutes ago, very close to the scene. we were just told to move away. 66, are shutting down working the other side of the parkway, so we literally have been running in this direction and stopped to do this live it. a very active scene. like i said, we were near the focus of where crews are really focused on. they have life jackets on. that is where the boats are docked. it seems right by the roosevelt bridge is where all the activity is. really not saying much information, besides telling us and other media outlets we needed to move back out of t

better tonight, thanks to the drier air. the dew point, 61 degrees d.c. the dew point is the direct measurement of how much moisture is floating around in the air. putting that on the dew point meter, right around 60 is still sticky. into the 50's, it feels great. the last five days we've been in the 70's. even though it is still the sticky category, it's better than where it has been. cloud cover out there, that is about it. really what is going on is this cold front pushes through. behind it is much drier air. we lose the humidity, bring in the sunshine, and that sticks around tomorrow. a similar story monday. the high pressure is still the dominant weather maker, allowing us to stay mostly sunny. the question that we have some showers in west virginia, closer to stanton, harrisburg, but around d.c., su
