war memorial sunday evening. from anotherching rally converged with the next crowd and together they rallied for peace and changed. >> we have a problem admitting we have racism in america. ashley: hundreds of people gathered, calling for change following the shooting deaths of two african-americans at the hands of police this week. >> how do we get to a place of peace, where we don't see these incidents occurring in our country? the crowd was this school teacher and her two-year-old daughter. >> as a parent, as an educator -- i'm a teacher -- i feel like is very important for me to show solidarity and to be part of the discussion to move forward. rally was a peaceful one with dozens of police officers watching on the sidelines. many in the crowd say they came because they are fed up. >> i truly believe we have an issue

deeper than just what we are seeing on the surface. hours after the speakers and musical performers twod, the crowd marched miles to the white house, hoping to bring the issue directly to the president. there was a significant police presence at each rally tonight, and things remained peaceful. live outside the white house, ashley coleman, abc 7 news. matter a black lives activist is out of jail tonight. the baltimore native was released after he and dozens of protesters were arrested in baton rouge. according to police, he was intentionally blocking the street during demonstrations. he believes he was targeted by the police. he was charged with a misdemeanor. a comfortable night after a hot but comfortable day.

at thedom, showed up station and oxon hill and turn himself in. the 41-year-old is being held on no bond, charged with first and second degree murder. court records show that he lived in the 7400 block of oxon hill road in prince george's county the shooting happened. we knocked on the door and the man who answered said no comment. neighbors in waldorf would not go on camera. they said nobody knew the woman well, but the man had not been there for some time. in oxon hill, cheryl conner, abc 7 news. kellye: also in prince george's county, the police arrested 61-year-old robert crosby, facing first-degree murder and robbery charges after killing his neighbor, allegedly. the police found frederick with trauma to her body inside of her home on 70 1st avenue in landover hills friday night. they say robbery was the motive.

trying to piece together the events leading to the death of two men in severn. a confrontation led to a shooting inside of a home on sandy farm. they found one man dead inside of a different home nearby. a second man tried to drive away, but died of his injuries. "the baltimore sun" reports that the police held one person for questioning. investigators working to identify to people who were killed when their car plunged into the potomac river, heading north on ohio drive last night when for whatever reason it left the road. two people in the vehicle were trapped, a third escape and swim ashore. what followed was a rescue operation that soon became one of recovery. was coming around last night and there were cap cars all up and down, all the way over to hear. sedan wase submerged lifted from the river early this morning.

midair mystery tonight, a dozen passengers on a delta flight halfway from atlanta to denver started complaining of nausea, dizziness, and rapid heart rates. the airplane made an emergency landing in tulsa, oklahoma. the fire department said that a few of the passengers showed slightly elevated carbon monoxide levels. >> i hit my red button. 10 miles ahead, it looked like about three or four others, with one man throwing up violently. examine theat teams plane, but with the doors opened, the carbon monoxide levels dropped back to normal. delta airlines

kellye: pepco is upgrading its old substation in northwest d.c. neighbors have been calling it an eyesore for years, but now it is getting the presidential treatment. reporter: with a shake of a canned and a splash of paint, they are transforming a neighborhood in northwest d.c. >> basically a lot of it is just simple tricks. is ther: his canvas pepco substation that has been in service since the 1940's. >> that been bricked over the better part of 70 years. reporter: the substation is getting an upgrade, but jonathan bender, the chairman of the local advisory neighborhood commission says it has been a eyesore. >> i think it has brought people down. reporter: pepco hire the local artist
