i talked to both governors today and they were very dismissive of the whole kind of back-and-forth or whether or not something was wrong with that speech. whether it was plagiarized. so here it's been a dismissive tone. the democrats obviously seizing on it. pointing out, the last thing i'll say is it's quite odd if you going to take from a speech it would be from the very administration you are trying to get rid of because you say it is so bad. so a bit of irony. the democrats claiming, the republicanning saying it's nonsense. michelle: let's talk about what is ahead tonight. we are expecting to hear from the trump children. what do you expect will be the big moment of tonight? scott: very few criticisms that we heard but there weren't enough personal anecdotes, softening the image of donald trump. we will see more of

it starts tomorrow where it began. that means the trains will be single tracking between the east falls church and ballston stations at all times. single tracking, those stations. the surge is set to last until july 31. alison: safetrack has been a boon for virginia railway express. summer is usually a slow time for trains going through northern virginia. of course vacations and flexible schedules are happening then. last tuesday v.r.e. set a record for the most individual trips in a day. that was just more than 23,000. and the weekly ridership topped 100,000 trips last week. the first time v.r.e. has ever hit that number. v.r.e. is crediting metro safetrack surge that closed the blue and yellow lines for the spike in its service. if you want to stay one step ahead of the safetrack surges with text messages to your phone. text "metro" to 43817 or sign up at wjla.com. michelle? michelle: fewer cars overall on th

even after rush hour time it's kind of bad. obviously something could be done that makes it better. suzanne: a final bit of good news in montgomery county, traffic decreased seven out of the ten interchanges on the capital beltway. along i-495, suzanne kennedy, abc7 news. jonathan: it's nice to see cars moving on the interstate, isn't it? now we get a check of the traffic situation. are they moving out there now or not so much? >> in some places folks are but we have some news of some important and serious accidents happening on the 95 corridor. if your travels take you to baltimore beware of delays due to accident, an investigation that does continue this afternoon. it's i-95 northbound near 195. again, it may slow your ride down if you are headed to b.w.i. this afternoon. report of an accident there, serious with the investigation continuing. you can see in the camera shot live on the ground that we certainly

alison: we have flu developments after a prince george's police officer was dragged more than 300 feet while holding on to the man behind the wheel. our maryland bureau chief brad bell was in court when danny harvell entered a plea. brad: a car has crashed. a cop is hurt. you can hear concern in the officer's voice as he called dispatch. >> my partner is being drug right now. officer mcconnell is down. the officer is hurt. his femur broken as the suspect's car drags him and crashes into a tree. today a year later that suspect,

alison: getting back to breaking news on the beltway. brad bell is on the scene. a pedestrian was hit by a car? brads: we understand not a pedestrian but someone cutting the grass. i'm at 410. this is the entrance ramp to the b.w. parkway north. police have it blocked off. we pan around, you can see over here all of these cars are being routed off of the northbound lanes of b.w. parkway at 410. that is because of the scene that is playing out about a mile north from here. we can go to newschopper7 to give you live pictures of the scene. as we understand it, a lawn cutting crew was out mowing the grass next to the b.w. parkway when a privately owned vehicle went off the roadway for some reason striking one of the lawnmowers. the operator in life threatening co

we understand another aspect of the terrible thing happening this afternoon is at just that moment, apparently, an off-duty metropolitan police officer, m.p.d. officer in his private car saw what happened, got out and was performing c.p.r. on that injured person. i believe you can make out the lawnmower and see a silver colored vehicle on a flatbed tow truck. what we were told is it was a silver vehicle that struck the lawnmower. can't say for sure but we believe the vehicle up on the tow truck is that vehicle. for commuters, the bottom line is there is going to be an investigation here. crash reconstruction is going to have to take place. all the cars on the parkway are being detoured off right here at

spoke to kidd o'shea about it on "good morning washington." kidd: the big story out of hollywood right now is this kim kardashian snapchat of kanye west recording taylor swift on a phone call. now there are questions of whether or not that was legal. judge acker: the issue is whether or not taylor swift had a reasonable expectation of privacy in that call. in california before you record anybody you have to have consent to all the parties. everybody being recorded has to consent to it. that only applies where the parties have a reasonable expectation of privacy. so if you and i are out talking in the street and i secretly record it, your expectation of privacy isn't as high. what i imagine kanye and kim's folks are arguing is that when you are having a conversation on a speakerphone and there are other parties present. part of the argument is that taylor knew other parties were present. so arguably she may not have had the same expectation of privacy as she would
