boring, but a look at how senator tim kaine may be impacting the democratic ticket. breaking news from the district tonight, an off-duty officer-involved shooting in northwest. roz plater is live on the scene with what we know. kimberly, still a very active crime scene. a large area roped off near the cvs and a number of officers on the scene collecting evidence. video from earlier, we are told the shooting happened at about 8 p.m. tonight in northwest. heard moreaid they than 10 rounds fired and people started scrambling and ducking for cover. on thegators are focused cvs parking lot, where tre

a black sedan with the driver side window shot out and shattered glass on the ground. officers are interviewing witnesses in that location. this involved in off-duty d.c. police officer. two men were shot and taken to the hospital. we do not have an update on their condition as of this point. they were conscious and breathing when they were taken to the hospital. the officer was not injured. we don't know how this got started, we don't know why the officer fired shots and if there was any fire return. although those are questions right now that still need to be answered. as we get information, we can bring it to you. roz plater, abc 7 news. kimberly: thank you. the democrats are filing into philadelphia for the dnc monday. they will become the first major political party to nominate a woman for president. hillary clinton made it official, introducing virginia senator tim kaine as her running mate.
