saying democrats are taking the black vote for granted. >> the democratic party has failed and betrayed the african american community. democratic crime policies, education policies, and economic policies have produced only more crime, more broken homes, and more poverty. >> trump accused clinton of being against the police. clinton has yet to respond. earlier she attended a voter registration event in philadelphia where she said she wasn't taking anybody anywhere for granted. trump is making it clear the much talked about pivot is not going to happen. it's your voice your vote. >> reporter: donald trump with a clear message when it comes to his style. change is not on the way. >> i am who i am. it's me. i don't want to change. everyone talks about are you going to pivot? i don't want to pivot. you have to be you. if you start pivoting, you're not being honest. i am who i am.

>> reporter: following disastrous weeks fuelled by off the cuff remarks, trump is trying to stay on message, delivering his plan to combat terror with the help of a teleprompter. >> we cannot let this evil continue. >> reporter: this comes amid reports trump has been huddling with a powerful conservative player ousted fox news hon choe, roger ailes. the trump campaign denying it saying he's not helping with debate prep. they're long time friends, but mr. ailes has no formal or informal role with the campaign. sources saying trump is going to ailes for advice on debates. over the weekend the two meeting at one of trump's new jersey golf courses. ailes was forced out of fox after he was charged with sexual harassment. trump defended him. >> he's been a friend of mine for a long time. some of the women complaining,

calling for the documents to be made public saying that will keep republicans from leaking selective portions. the fbi says the material is classified or sensitive and should not be released without fbi approval. a fast moving wildfire forced more than 08,000 people from their home. the san bernardino fire spread quickly due to strong winds, high temperatures and humidity around 5%. more than 15,000 acres have burned, and there's no containment right now. at least a dozen buildings including some homes and a historic diner have been destroyed. crews will be on the scene throughout the night. we'll stay on this breaking story and have an update for you in our next half hour. in northern california, the arson suspect there is due to make his first court appearance today. the suspect faces multiple charges in connection with the fire which destroyed at least 100 homes. he has a long criminal record. he tra

firefight while serving a five year sentence for illegal possession of drugs and firearms. a fire is still only 35% contained. a curfew in parts of louisiana this morning after reports of looting. at least 40,000 homes were damaged in some of the worst flooding in the state history. 11 people have died and authorities are going door to door looking for the missing. in livingston perish, 75% of the homes are a total loss, and many have no flood insurance. we're getting new details about the armed robbery of ryan lochte and teammates in rio. lochte says he didn't initially tell officials about the incident because the swirms were afraid they'd get in trouble. the delay caused confusion between the usoc and the olympic committee. his attorney says he cooperated fully with authorities. meanwhile the u.s. smash

police in dallas released this video of a car theft. the car's owner tried to stop the thief, but is actually dragged 70 feet clinging to the door handle on the driver's side. he was banged up, but has recovered. police caught the suspected car thief who has since apologized to the victim. and police in florida are asking for the public's help to catch a woman who trashed a
