conger? ryan hughes is outside the conger home in rockville. you have been staking out the home and the airport as well. what is the latest? ryan: we have been here for a long time. in the past hour we saw the family car pull in the garage of their home behind me. a short time after that, conger's dad seen driving out of the neighborhood. he would not tell us where his son is. but we know he was set to land at reagan national airport around noon today. but we never saw him get off of that plane. this video taken today, conger and his teammate gunnar bentz landing in miami. on wednesday they were taken off a plane and detained in rio. ryan lochte and his teammates have been under fire after authorities revealed the swimmer fabricated the story being held at gunpoint and robbed the last week after a night of partying. rio police now saying the four men lied to cover their tracks after and have losing a

speculation that this was an intentional act. but today the a.t.f. shot down all of those claims. instead the special agent assigned to the case says natural gas filled the basement meter room of this building. for hours after the explosion the potent gas fueled the fire. in part water can take two hours to cut the gas line. in the lengthy press conference, the montgomery county police confirmed they have identified three of the seven victims. two men and one woman. the injuries so severe the medical examiner relied on science. one reporter asked if the apartment building should have been outfitted with a natural gas detector. the maryland state fire marshal saying it wasn't required by may soon be. as for the smell of the natural gas leading up to the explosion the acting fire chief said the department ha

jonathan: listen to this story. alison: this is out of baltimore. a mother steps outside to go to the car. moments later she turns around and the house is on fire. look who is inside. the 8-month-old baby girl and her dog. erica. she and the neighbors tried time and time again to get the baby out of the house. they couldn't get to her. when firefighters arrived they found something amazing. the dog was in the room and covering the baby. >> that way nothing got to her and he stayed there. he only had burns on the side. he stayed with her the whole time in the bedroom. he wouldn't come downstairs to get out the door. alison: so paramedics were able to revive viviana, the little girl.

itunes gift cards. that's what the loudoun county sheriff office say the crooks are doing now. they are telling the victims they owe back taxes and a warrant has been issued for the arrest. this is the important part. government offices, government officials, i.r.s. will never require you to use a gift card as payment. in fact, they don't call you. they send you the litters in the mail. they never get you over the phone. if they call you, hang up. if you are a victim of this sort of scam, the police would like to hear from you. alison: here is something else happening out there. another alert for you. all of eddie bauer north american stores were targeted by cyber thieves this year. the company announced they scrubbed the malwear from registers at 350 stores. the data breach started in january and it wasn't stopped until midjuly. now if you shoppedded online we are

jonathan: crews try to continue to disinfect part of the prince george's hospital center. alison: they reported the deadly bacteria in the neonatal intensive care unit which was shut down. now it could reopen soon. richard reeve has the timeline for us. rich? richard: new information about the timeline. late august and maybe early september before they reopen. they will do something th

they will clean out the water system. it has to be approved by the state environmental and the health officials. now we did get more information about the possible source or the source they believe of the bacteria. they believe it comes from the pipe that lead in the nicu as they call it. they say they found bacteria in four sinks in the nicu and three in the regular intensive care unit. those are treated now. we broke the story that the pipes were an issue and the deadly bacteria were found in the nasal swab of three infants. the good news today, they found none of those youngsters have any sign of infection. still no comment from the hospital about two previous infant deaths, whether or not they were connected with the bacteria. they say this cleaning and investigation will be a slow process. >> the best det

gunshot. the victim has not been identified. two others were hurt. police are still looking for the suspect. jonathan: it has been a long standing u.s. policy. no ransom payments for hostages. but now according to the state department, the recent release of four americans from iran was contin sent -- contingent of $400 million. a payment some argued was ransom. now it's putting american lives in danger in the future. we have more. >> no one denies that $400 million worth of cash was transferred from the u.s. to iran. on the same day four americans including "washington post" reporter jason rezaian were freed from iranian prison. but what to call that january payment has brought about a war of words. >> we do not pay ransom for hostages. >> he said we don't pay ransom. but we did. >> it's not ransom for many reasons. first of all, this is iran's

get higher and higher, and cemeteries fill up, more people are considering cremation. but a family learned it's not that easy to get permission to be cremated. >> he never thought his mother's passing would create problems and he tried to honor the wish to be cremated he learned it's not so simple. >> in 1998 my mother prepaid for her funeral arrangements. >> she paid for cremation even writing it in the will. >> she thought everything was done. but the plan hit a snag. >> all of your siblings have to agree that she can be cremated. >> the funeral home would not allow anything until all four adult children signed concept form. charlie says it was not a shock to him and his wife but also to the family finances. his mother prepaid $800 for cremation. not $6,000 for a full burial. >> then he couldn't find one
