what will happen to headstart? tom roussey has the very latest. tom, what is the latest? this is a very big deal to the parents of the 900-plus children who are in headstart. it is supposed to start this coming monday. tonight, the chairman of the school board vowed that it would start monday. however, how to pay for it, he did not offer details, especially after they lost $6 million from the federal government for it. as a result, it appears the prince george's county board of ppeal a not a decision to strip it of over $6 million for headstart. they vowed that headstart would still begin as planned monday. >> everyone at the board of education was deeply disturbed. tom: the federal government

never, and it's right in our backyards. synthetic drugs are not new, but the police the chemicals in the drugs are. tim barber tells us with the detectives are doing to get these drugs off the streets. tim: last june the department started a unit to focus on synthetic drugs. in the first seven months, they made nearly 140 arrests. this year they have already made more than 150. >> if you light up one of these, you have a possibility of dying. tim: he is talking about synthetic drugs. you might remember the colorful packets at convenience stores. but the metropolitan police department says the drugs are becoming more dangerous. orewe are seeing a mr heroin-type high. which is leading to unconsciousness. tim: the problem is the formula keeps changing, so it is hard to know what is in each hit.
